Now that filming for The Block 2026 is over, fans are starting to get a glimpse of what the friendships are like in the real world.
Some teams appear to be as chummy as ever, hanging out together, commenting on each other’s social media pages, and speaking highly of one another in interviews.
While others have made it clear they want nothing to do with their former co-stars after all the drama that went on.
One event in particular had fans raising eyebrows as there was a team missing from the festivities.
The Block fans notice one team was missing from group event
At Nine’s Upfronts (aka the industry event where networks announce their upcoming content), the entire cast rolled in to celebrate, except for one team: Chantel and Wyatt.
Reddit was flooded with comments of people pointing out that the Queensland couple were missing from the social media footage.
“Darren posts ‘we’re all here’ but oops, where’s Chantel & Wyatt?” a Redditor posted.
“They are at the gym of course,” one person joked, with another adding: “Obviously at the gym.”
Meanwhile another commenter pointed out that “she’s a single mum of three and he wanted freedom”, so they’re likely busy.
But it turns out there’s more to their absence than scheduling conflicts.
Why have Wyatt and Chantel ditched The Block crew?
‘Perhaps they weren’t invited?’ one might wonder.
But according to a Nine insider who spoke to Woman’s Day, the couple were invited to the Upfronts but declined the offer.
“Nobody was forcing them to be there,” the source assured.
Another team, who shall remain anonymous, told the mag that they refused to be in the same room as Houses One and Three.
Another Block insider also said their decision to not attend wasn’t due to scheduling issues, it was because they did not want to be around the other teams.
“They’ve completely ghosted everyone,” the insider spilled.
“There’s been no communication in the WhatsApp group, no calls, no texts. They’ve just removed themselves from the whole thing.”
The source adds: “They left The Block at the end of filming and really have only interacted with the other houses once.”
And the drama didn’t end there, Chantel later left a comment on a video shared from the event, revealing which teams she’s still friendly with and which ones she refuses to speak to.
It turns out the pair has been turning down all kinds of post-show events, including cast reunions and get-togethers, even special opps that would involve reuniting with their co-stars.
“They just don’t want anything to do with it,” the insider said. “They’re turning down opportunities because they don’t want to be around certain people.”
The source added that one of their biggest gripes was the fact that their house was positioned between Adam and Jolene on one side and Lisa and Rosco on the other, meaning the other teams would constantly barge into their house.
“They hated people constantly coming in and out of houses and being in each other’s space,” the source says. “They felt being stuck between those two houses made their experience much harder than it needed to be.”
The situation appears to be very different for the neighbours they previously butted heads with. Adam, Jolene, Lisa and Rosco have reportedly remained close since filming wrapped, while Courtney and Sev are also said to have made amends with Jolene after experiencing tension with her during the season.
“Everyone had their dramas on the show, but since filming ended, the other four houses have really come together,” the insider says. “They call each other, they text constantly — they’ve become this little Block family. That’s what makes Chantel and Wyatt’s absence so obvious.”
