Thought last night’s episode of The Block 2026 was brutal? Turns out there was more we didn’t see!
ICYMI: in the episode, Courtney and Sev are one of many teams who reject Tayla and Rick’s bid for more time on account of the father’s injury.
Then later, back at the sharehouse, Sev consoles Rick and assures him that she has empathy for his situation.
She’s then criticised for this by Lisa and Rosco who claim she was just doing it for the cameras.
The Block’s Courtney and Sev felt the “wrath” of Rick
Speaking exclusively to Chattr, Courtney and Sev responded to Lisa’s diss about supposedly only caring for Rick’s injury while cameras were rolling, revealing there were several unaired moments from the episode.
Sev revealed she actually spoke to him off camera as well and he was less kind.
“We did feel the wrath of his feelings post the body corp, and I actually went up to him when there wasn’t cameras, and he gave me a bit of a cold response, and that’s when I knew he was upset with me, and I really wanted to just say to him, ‘We care for your injury. In this moment, we don’t care about the competition, we care for your injury because you’re not going to be here for the end, like those last remaining weeks, if you keep this up’,” she told Chattr.
“But he sort of shut me down, and so I was like, okay, I think I can recognise that he just wants a bit of time and space from us, so we’ll let him have it. But we always knew our friendship would bounce back. Like we built something so beautiful over the last seven weeks that this was just like a momentary thing, and whoever has opinions in that moment of what happened then, that’s their prerogative. But it absolutely was not the case.
“We think highly of Rick and Tayla, and it was never the case that we didn’t care for his injury or weren’t empathetic to the situation.”
Courtney and Sev went on to say that they have “the receipts” to prove they actually did care for Rick, but feel they don’t need to “prove it to anyone”.
Sadly, their friendship with Tayla and Rick is now somewhat fractured.
