The drama on The Block 2026 is really heating up with several dramas pulling focus from the show — in particular, the latest row involving Jolene and Courtney.
Speaking exclusively to Chattr, former contestants Rick and Courtney lifted the lid on some of the behind-the-scenes dynamics that viewers haven’t necessarily seen play out, including Jolene’s approach to the competition.
And if their comments are anything to go by, there’s potentially a whole lot more to come from the controversial contestant.
Rick claims Jolene had a ‘sneaky’ strategy to win The Block
Rick didn’t hold back when discussing the competitive nature of his rivals, suggesting that Jolene came into the competition with a very clear game plan.
“They came in with a game plan, and they’re there to win,” he told Chattr exclusively.
“These guys were the pretty serious contenders. I think out of the whole five groups, Jolene had a strategy when she came onto the show, and I think she did very well holding herself to that.”
However, Rick hinted that there may be more to Jolene’s strategy than viewers realise, describing the gameplay as “a little bit sneaky”.
“Good luck to them. They played the game very well and are a little bit sneaky,” he added.
And when asked whether there was more to come, Rick dropped a rather intriguing tease.
“There is something coming. Stay tuned,” he warned.

The teams reveal Jolene and Lisa grow closer as the competition unfolds
Rick also opened up about the relationships that formed between contestants during filming, revealing that some unexpected alliances developed along the way.
While he said he initially gravitated towards Adam and Jolene, he explained that he ultimately formed a particularly close bond with the women next door.
“We just bonded more so with the girls. I took an attraction to Adam and Jolene first, and as being the oldest in the group, so from day one,” he said.
“And look, we’re still very close, but just bonded with the girls next door a bit closer than anybody else.”
Interestingly, Sev revealed that Lisa and Jolene’s friendship becomes increasingly noticeable as the season progresses.
“Lisa and Jolene definitely start to grow quite close, and that becomes very, very prevalent,” she said.
Courtney hints at tension between Tayla and Jolene as The Block drama escalates
Rick isn’t the only contestant suggesting that there’s more drama brewing behind the scenes.
Courtney also offered some insight into the shifting dynamics between contestants, particularly when it came to Tayla and Jolene.
Referencing Scotty Cam’s earlier suggestion that tensions would start to crack around week seven, Courtney said the prediction wasn’t far off.
“It wasn’t far from the truth,” she explained.
Courtney recalled a challenge in week eight that saw contestants split into two groups, with her team separated from Tayla and Jolene.
“We were away from Tayla and Jolene, but from a bystander’s perspective, we were experiencing some arguments from afar, and it looked like there was a hard dynamic there,” she said.
While Courtney didn’t reveal exactly what was going on between the contestants, her comments certainly suggest that the relationships on The Block may become increasingly complicated as the competition continues.
