Sometimes it’s not what we see on reality TV that’s the most intriguing, it’s what we don’t see. And according to My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2026 besties Angus and Simon, there’s one scene we’re all missing out on!

In an exclusive interview with Chattr, the Adelaide lads opened up about their MKR experience, including the lost scene they still think about and how they really feel about the competition.

So boil the kettle and let’s brew the tea!

MKR’s Angus and Simon reveal the scene that got cut

This year’s cast have previously clued us in to moments that were left on the cutting room floor, including a scene from Shane and Jane’s ill-fated Instant Restaurant where Jane admits defeat and another moment where Jane apologises to Lucy for their clash.

As for Angus and Simon, the only scene they can recall that was left out but should have been included was a lighthearted moment early on in the show.

“It’s not necessarily spicy, but we did a limbo at Mary and Golden’s restaurant,” Simon revealed.

“I wish they did that as a separate clip, like a reel, because I would’ve liked to have seen that in the episode. It was funny!”

Angus and Simon reveal what My Kitchen Rules is really like for contestants

Elsewhere in the chat, the besties revealed how they really feel about the MKR experience and prospective contestants will be pleased to know they found it to be a hoot!

“We actually had a lot of fun and there are a lot of emotions involved, it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it’s probably the most fun I’ve ever had in my life too,” Angus told Chattr exclusively.

“Definitely, for me it was the best thing I’ve ever done in my life,” Simon shared.

“It was very hard to go back to teaching. Obviously you get looked after very well by production, you’re flown around the country and all that kind of gear, which is not our normal lives. It was a very nice change of pace.”

He went on to say that he “always had an idea of doing something in the creative media space and having the opportunity to do it was awesome”, adding that being able to sample so much amazing food was also a major drawcard.

My Kitchen Rules airs on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
