My Kitchen Rules Alisha Deanne Tiffany Giancarlo on what MKR Jane really like
  • Jane and Shane have sparked drama on My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2026 over Jane’s harsh criticism of other teams.

  • Krysten and Lucy accused the couple of being ‘fake’ and ‘two-faced’.

  • Alisha and Deanne accused Jane of acting superior and blaming her behaviour on editing.

  • Tiffany and Giancarlo defended Jane’s professional expertise but admitted some of her comments went too far.

Blue Mountains foodies, Jane and Shane, have found themselves at the centre of non-stop drama on My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2026, largely thanks to Jane’s brutally honest criticism of the other teams.

The food stylist has raised eyebrows with her harsh assessments, particularly after declaring that she and Shane prefer to “taste, not eat” and criticising everything from food presentation to the plates contestants serve their dishes on.

They’ve clashed with Krysten and Lucy, who accused them of being “fake” and “two-faced” in a teaser. The mother-daughter duo claimed Jane and Shane were far harsher in their private critiques than when speaking directly to their fellow contestants.

But their biggest feud has been with Alisha and Deanne, who accused the couple of acting superior and taking the home-cooking competition far too seriously. Things escalated when Jane admitted the pair’s colourful plates had influenced her scoring, sparking a heated confrontation between the teams.

In an exclusive interview with Chattr, Alisha confirmed she is not on speaking terms with Jane after she claims that the food critic said she got a bad edit.

“She played the ‘poor me, pity me’ [card], like all this is edited stuff. I just said to them, ‘Look, there’s no such thing as a bad edit. You did say it, so own up to it. If you’re going to be an unapologetic, opinionated person, well, then own it’.”

The women believe that Shane and Jane’s edit reflects their experience with the couple, adding they believe Jane acted ‘two-faced’ on the show by being ‘even worse’ in her private confessionals.

“They acted snobby and upper class. Thought they were better than anything,” Deanne said.

“She acted around the table like she didn’t want to say certain things because she didn’t want to offend certain groups. But in interviews, she goes ham! She says production pretty much pushed her against other teams and stuff and she didn’t want to do that. So to our face, she’s trying to tell us one thing, but you’re watching interviews, and she is just so two-faced.”

The women even claim that Jane and Shane scored them low at their Instant Restaurant to ‘get them out’ of the competition. “It is personal,” Deanne said. “I think they wanted us gone very quickly. It’s easy to drop out a team if you can score them quite low.”

MKR’s Tiffany and Giancarlo defend Jane on My Kitchen Rules

However, Tiffany and Giancarlo have rushed to Jane’s defence in an interview with Chattr. “We got along well, and we respect [her] and come from the same point of view. Yes, it is very direct. It’s a bit harsh, but she is her profession,” Tiffany said, referencing how Jane is a food stylist.

“We understood her from the get-go.”

Giancarlo agreed that her style of criticism was rooted in her job. “Her comments are sharp, but as a professional, you sort of have to be that way,” he said.

That said, Tiffany did not condone everything that came out of Jane’s mouth on the show. “I do sometimes think that some things were like… read the room, you sort of miss the vibe with some comments made. I don’t agree with it all,” Tiffany added.
