This season of My Kitchen Rules (MKR) has kept us well-fed with lots of drama (no pun intended) but according to the contestants, there were more spicy moments that didn’t make the cut!
Given how chaotic this season has been, you can almost forgive the editors for not including all the savage moments, but lucky for us, mother-daughter duo Lucy and Krysten have revealed one particular moment we didn’t see.
Hope you enjoy piping hot tea, because this one’s scalding!
The spicy moment between MKR’s Jane and Lucy that was edited out
Early on, Jane and Shane positioned themselves as firm rivals with many of the other teams, with their harsh critiquing and cold demeanor.
In particular, Jane sparred with Lucy and called her “naive”.

Speaking exclusively to Chattr, Lucy revealed she actually clapped back at Jane but it was not shown in the episode.
“When Jane calls me naive, I actually asked her what she means by that and she just completely fumbles and doesn’t know what to say,” Lucy shared.
“It comes across as if she doesn’t know what she’s talking about — I’m surprised they didn’t put it in.”
The moment was so red hot that it prompted Jane to apologise to Lucy the following evening at Tiffany and Giancarlo’s Instant Restaurant, but that scene was also withheld from the final ep.
“She actually apologised to me in front of the whole table for that comment, which wasn’t shown either,” Lucy added.
Lucy and Krysten respond to ‘internet chatter’ about MKR’s edit
Although they were surprised that such a spicy moment wasn’t aired, they shared that the behaviour of the other teams as shown on TV was fairly consistent with how it appeared in real life.
“That’s how everyone was when we went through the whole experience. I feel like they’re being portrayed exactly how they are on TV as well,” Lucy told Chattr exclusively.
Krysten then interjected: “There’s a lot of internet chatter about how people are edited, but honestly, everyone is coming across exactly as they were at the table.”
“What you see is what you get,” she concluded.

Interestingly, Alisha and Deanne had the same opinion when speaking exclusively to Chattr, arguing back at Jane’s claim that she had been heavily edited.
“She played the ‘poor me, pity me’ [card], like all this is edited stuff,” Alisha told us.
“I just said to them, ‘Look, there’s no such thing as a bad edit. You did say it, so own up to it. If you’re going to be an unapologetic, opinionated person, well, then own it’.”
In tonight’s episode of My Kitchen Rules, Jane and Shane finally have their turn in the kitchen and it’s bound to be a doozy!
My Kitchen Rules airs on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
