By now, we’ve all heard about the infamous leaked text scandal, which sees brides Gia and Bec go scorched earth on Alissa and David. The messages appear to have been exchanged on WhatsApp in the early weeks of Married At First Sight (MAFS), and they show three brides using some very… uh, colourful language to express their dislike of the couple.
Sadly, we don’t have the conversation in full: we only have what Gia reportedly screen grabbed and tucked away as “receipts”. The first screenshot shows an exchange between Bec, Gia, and former participant Brook. Since Gia allegedly took the screenshots from her phone, her messages are probably the ones in green.
So without further ado, feast your eyes on this first exchange, where Alissa and David (presumably, being the Christian ones) are allegedly referred to as “fake c**ts” and, to drive the point home, “two c**t-licking Christian influencer wannabe c**ts.”
As for Brook’s mention of “Andrew Tate hands”, she’s likely referring to the temple-like gesture that the misogynist Andrew Tate makes with his hands. It appears that Brook is suggesting that David made this gesture at some point, but we couldn’t say for sure.

In a second screenshot, we see references to Alisa being a “rat” and presumably telling MAFS producers that Ali Daher, a journalist who covers MAFS for The Daily Mail, contacted her. Gia looks to say that she doesn’t “f*ck with people like that”, and that’s basically that.

This final screenshot throws a spanner in the works, as it includes a round of unanimous praise for former participant Mel Akbay. Why not!

David and Alissa respond to the leaked texts
In an interview with Chattr, David reckons it was Bec who kicked off the Alissa hate train. “From my understanding, Gia first heard anything negative about Alissa from Bec, so I’m pretty sure it all started with Bec bringing Alissa’s name up anyway, and then, obviously Gia ran with it,” he said.
“It just became this massive hate against Alissa, but someone had to start the rumours or the talking, and I think Bec was the instigator,” David explained, adding that he’s still angry at both Gia and Bec, because it takes “two to tango”.
Also speaking to Chattr, Alissa took aim at Gia for waving the “receipts” around, accusing her of doing so to spin the narrative in her favour.
“It’s just Gia doing Gia s**t,” Alissa said. “She just can’t help herself. She’s got a big mouth. She’s a master manipulator, and she’s just ruined a lot of storylines for a lot of people, and she’s only thinking about herself and trying to save herself,” she said.
“This girl’s gonna be remembered for all the bad things,” Alissa added. “She’s not going to be iconic. She’s going to be remembered for all the bad s**t she did.”
Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Monday – Thursday at 7:30pm this week on Channel 9 and 9Now.
