It’s time for the Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 intruders! One of the new grooms is Joel, who would describe himself as a former “fat Uber driver” and has spent the last five years reinventing himself into a stronger and more confident person and is ready to find his forever on MAFS.
Who is Joel and what does he do?
Joel, 31, is a Sydney-born, first-generation Australian of Iraqi heritage, and a model and drummer. Taking a closer look at Joel’s Instagram (currently private), it looks like he’s also signed to Wink Models and Khoo Management.
According to his Channel 9 bio, growing up wasn’t easy for Joel as he faced bullying and often felt different, but he admits that this only helped shape his self-awareness.
According to Who Magazine, he’s a “self-confessed Mummy’s boy” who has described himself as “over the top” and “too much for some.” However, Joel does credit his single mum, whom he calls a “spiritual goddess,” and apparently can even read people before he sees the signs… Do we have our first psychic on MAFS!?

According to Who Magazine, Joel has reportedly been matched with a possessive and overly invested bride, Juliette Chae. However, these intruders are yet to walk down the aisle, so we will just have to keep watching to find out.
