It was the Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 Retreat from hell, which saw Juliette Chae Fava call Bec Zacharia a “c**t” and say she was a “f**king freak” after Bec’s “finger-banging” joke about Rachel. Now, Bec’s husband, Danny Hewitt, thinks Juliette needs to apologise.
So far this season, Juliette’s behaviour has been criticised by both the experts at the Commitment Ceremony and her husband, Joel Moses. At the Couples Retreat, Joel even admitted discomfort with Juliette’s treatment of others, saying, “I have been on the receiving end of Juliette’s cruelty, and I do not like it when she abuses people. I think she took it too far with Bec.”
Danny told Chattr that Juliette’s repeated attacks on Bec crossed a line, insisting her behaviour must be addressed: “Juliette’s behaviour was disgraceful, whether you like someone or not or whatever, you can’t call people a c**t and a f**king freak multiple times,” Danny says.
He said the pressures of the experiment are no excuse for the outburst. “Obviously, she should apologise, like the experiment’s tough [and] tensions are high. But you don’t see everyone in the experiment calling people things like that.
“Juliette will say, ‘It was because I was angry’, or because of this. We’ve seen her do it to her own husband — her apologies to Joel — which are empty anyway, because she apologises, but then it’s always an excuse, straight after,” he said.
“If you’re truly sorry, there’s no but after your apology, you just apologise. You don’t apologise with a but.”

Are Danny and Bec nervous about tonight’s Dinner Party?
The last three Dinner Parties have seen tensions run high between Bec and the rest of the participants, but Danny tells Chattr that he wasn’t breaking a sweat about going to the event.
“I think Bec was a bit apprehensive. Obviously, there was always tension in the air with all the girls, but I personally, was relaxed,” Danny says.
However, Danny admitted he was actually stressed during the Dinner Party, pointing out how many times he blinked in the episode’s preview.
“My stress rate was through the roof. I’ve already seen a few comments online about it,” he laughs. And while Danny says he was trying to stay relaxed, he also acknowledged that a divide is definitely forming within the group.
Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
