With the main storyline of Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 revolving around Danny denying Gia‘s claims that he told her she was his type, a body language expert has weighed in.

Combined Communications Specialist and Body Language Expert Scott Taylor has studied Gia, Danny and his TV wife Bec’s nonverbal actions to determine whether he believes Danny did hit on Gia. According to the pro, Danny did make some sort of move on Gia, but Scott thinks she may have twisted the story a little.

“I don’t believe that he said the exact words that Gia said, but I do believe that he said words that could be understood that way,” Scott said.

He pointed out that Danny may be getting away with it on a technicality, but was constantly reiterating that he didn’t say exactly what Gia insisted he told her.

“You notice every time when he’s talking about things, he’s like, I didn’t say that, or that wasn’t said, he says these sorts of words in there as well, referring to the specific words. So I believe that there’s been something that he said that’s been similar of nature, but it hasn’t said those exact words, and that’s why he will stand on the ground on that position,” he explained.

Body language expert Scott analyses Bec and Danny’s connection

Scott also analysed Bec and Danny’s connection during the most recent Commitment Ceremony, which aired on Sunday, March 1. He said that the couple were extremely frosty with one another on the lounge and had “no connection”.

“On the group lounge before they get on the expert lounge. No connection there, from a nonverbal point of view, that actually even turned and rolled each out from each other. So not a good sign at all,” he said.

Scott added that when Bec told the relationship experts that she and Danny were “stronger than ever”, her nonverbal cues suggested that she didn’t believe it.

“She knew that they’re not in a good spot for these things, but they’re trying to put out that public front to try and not be the centre of attention for questions… even when Bec said stronger together. There was a big pause in there. Some of the things in there had just been rehearsed and practised for the experts. That’s what they were doing,” he said.

Scott explained that he can pick out a pre-rehearsed phrase when there are five or six words clumped together in a different tone. He added that Bec’s non-verbal cues were concerning.

“Bec showed numerous signs of deep distress there. There was facial tension, substantial, rapid hand wringing, full palm connection elements and that, as well, that people experience moments of breathlessness a lot. So I hope, and obviously, she showed some shocking behaviour, but I hope she’s getting the right support there as well.”

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
