The Married at First Sight (MAFS) Grass is Greener challenge saw tensions between Bec and Danny explode, after he accused her of “encouraging cheating”, which resulted in Bec walking out of the apartment to cool off. However, an insider has told us that the fight escalated to the point of the couple breaking up, but their split was cut from the edit.
“Bec left the apartment to get her thoughts together after their fight, and when she came back she told him she didn’t want to be with him anymore and that it was over, because she believed he was using the Grass is Greener fight as a way to pave the way for a break up at Final Vows, so she figured she may as well end things now rather than be humiliated at the end,” the source dished.
“But Danny begged her to stay. After the fight, when the cameras weren’t around, he gave her so much reassurance, he told her he wanted a future with her. He even started getting intimate with her more regularly, so she truly believed that he was very into her, despite the narrative that’s currently playing out on TV.”
The insider added that all of Danny’s promises and reassurances behind closed doors ultimately convinced Bec to stay together with Danny, and ride out the rest of the experiment at his side. They added that Bec was shocked to see the way Danny acted towards the other women during the challenge.
David and Alissa’s unaired ‘screaming’ fights throughout the season
Danny and Bec weren’t the only couple to have pivotal unaired fights scrapped from the final cut on MAFS this year, with an insider revealing that Alissa and David apparently had regular screaming matches.
Alissa touched on the fights during a previous interview with Chattr, confirming that many disagreements between herself and David weren’t aired.
“There is a lot of context missing. We’ve had a few ups and downs at this point in the experiment that haven’t been aired, and we’ve had to work through them. Some of the things were challenging that we had to work through, and the cracks do start to show; every relationship has cracks,” she said.
Alissa added that she understands why viewers may be confused, as Alissa and David’s problem appears to arise out of thin air.
“It won’t make sense to the viewers because there have been storylines missed, big key elements to our relationship,” she added.
The insider went into more detail, saying the fights between the couple started early in the season and were quite extreme.
“From the hallways, crew could regularly hear their arguments through the bedroom walls; it was happening multiple times a week.”
Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Tuesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
