Alissa on MAFS

Last night, viewers witnessed one of the wildest Dinner Parties in Married at First Sight (MAFS) history, with several brides lashing out at Alissa, imitating her voice and calling her fake.

While viewers were understandably shocked by the attack on Alissa for — what appeared to be — no reason, she told Chattr in an interview that she was also the target of other outrageous accusations that didn’t make the cut.

“There were a lot of disgusting things that were said during the Dinner Party that can never be aired,” she said.

Alissa added that while she appeared to brush off the harsh comments that were thrown her way from Brook, Gia and Bec, they really hurt her deep down.

“I remember sitting at that table and my hands were sweating. I was shaking. I was terrified, because I was like, What is actually going on? I couldn’t believe it, because Stella and I never did anything. We’ve we only spoken very highly of those girls. I never said one bad thing.”

“It’s so hurtful. Like, even when I watched back on some of the clips last night, it’s traumatising. Because I’m not a nasty person. I’m a nurse. I care for people, I love people. It’s my job. That’s what I do on a daily basis. So to have that vicious, nasty, mean girl behaviour at me was just very new to me.”

In fact, Alissa said what she experienced at the Dinner Party made her want to quit the experiment altogether.

“The next day, I didn’t want to get out of bed. I was planning on leaving the experiment, because I was, like, I don’t need to be here, you know, I came here for what I got. So I was, I was happy to walk out,” she said.

Alissa added that her blossoming relationship with David was the only reason she decided to stay.

“He was amazing. I would have exited the experiment after that Dinner Party, if it wasn’t for him, I would have left,” she said. “I had unfinished business to do. I didn’t want to just walk away and let him down.”

“We all deserve to be there and find love, like and if I walked away, I was only going to be letting myself down and him down, so I had to show up.”

David reveals how he convinced Alissa not to quit MAFS

In a separate interview with Chattr, David detailed how upset Alissa was on the morning following the explosive Dinner Party and echoed her sentiment that they copped a lot more than was shown.

“She honestly couldn’t get out of bed. I feel like last night didn’t even show how much we copped. It was like three hours of her just getting abused, and me getting abused,” he said.

“The next day, she didn’t get out of bed, and we were there for like hours in bed, and you know, the producers were saying, You got to go to the next thing. And she didn’t want to go. She wanted to leave.”

David said seeing Alissa in such a state was really hard for him, but he just reminded her of her own self-worth.

“How I propped her up was I just reminded of the queen she was. I was like, You’re a queen. Like, you’re not gonna let these guys get to you because they’re jealous and they’re giving that mean girl energy. You’re bigger than that. You’ve been through way more than this.

“And so I ended up talking her out of the state she was in, and then she propped herself up, and yeah, we got her out of bed, and kept going with the experiment. But yeah, it was very, very hard.”

Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
