MAFS Alissa and David

Alissa and David may look like one of the strongest couples on Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026, but the bride has revealed to Chattr that several major fights between the couple never made it to air.

Spoiler warning: The following article has spoilers. If you don’t want to know what happens between David and Alissa, now is the time to stop reading!

The first sign of trouble between Alissa and David was shown in the Commitment Ceremony episode that aired on March 8, when Alissa told the experts that she functions at a “higher frequency” than him. While the couple had a non-productive chat about it in the following episode, no other issues between them have been raised since. However, Alissa said that wasn’t the case behind the scenes.

“There is a lot of context missing. We’ve had a few ups and downs at this point in the experiment that haven’t been aired, and we’ve had to work through them. Some of the things were challenging that we had to work through, and the cracks do start to show; every relationship has cracks,” she said.

Alissa added that viewers may be confused, seemingly implying that Alissa and David’s relationship may begin to fall apart in upcoming episodes.

“It won’t make sense to the viewers because there have been storylines missed, big key elements to our relationship,” she added.

What exactly were those fights about? Alissa wouldn’t elaborate, but she did explain that she believes she’s been open about her issues, for her part.

“I’ve always been very open about how I’m feeling, and I feel like there could have been times where we could have had better conversations, or maybe he could have spoken up a little bit more, because I’m very open with my communication and what I need and what I want. But you know, no one’s f**king perfect,” she explained.

Alissa and David are reportedly set to break up in upcoming MAFS episodes

According to MAFS Funny podcast, David and Alissa apparently make it all the way through the experiment, but Alissa packs up and quits right before Final Vows.

Producers allegedly begged Alissa to return, and she finally agreed, but savagely dumped David at Final Vows.

“And then during their Final Vows ceremony, Alissa went first. She read out her vows, which were apparently quite brutal, and in them she said, how her and David, they have no future outside of the experiment, and this apparently left David so furious and kind of blindsided that he just threw his vows down on the ground, refused to read them and stormed off set, and that was it, done, the end,” host Josh Fox claimed.

MAFS 2026 premieres on Sunday – Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
