There has been a mass exodus of Home and Away cast leaving the show in 2025, but there’s some good news — fresh characters are on the way! Due to the way the soap works, cast often receive a three-year contract before moving on to other projects. While it seems Lynne McGranger, Matt Evans, and Juliet Godwin have said goodbye, Summer Bay could be bringing in a very famous star from New Zealand.
Home and Away films about five to six months in advance, so superfans can rock up on set out at Palm Beach to see what’s coming up next. A video, taken by Home and Away tour company CelebTime, recently showed a scene involving a brunette actress alongside Jessica Redmayne and Ethan Browne.
One fan identified the actor as Sara Wiseman, known for her roles on Mercy Peak, The Cult, A Place To Call Home, and most recently, on Netflix’s Territory. She was married to actor Craig Hall for sixteen years prior to their split in 2023, and has been open about being queer and bisexual.
“Looks like Sara Wiseman joins the cast,” one person wrote in a popular Home and Away Facebook fan group.
“Her character name [is] not confirmed yet, and not sure if she [is] a regular or a guest,” another added.
Fans quickly speculated about what Sara’s character would be, with some wondering if she would take Bree’s place in healthcare.
“Wonder what role she is playing? Perhaps something in welfare or health seeing as she’s with Harper,” one person guessed.
“Maybe she is the new doctor,” another said.
“Maybe Harper and Dana’s mum? Just a guess,” a third added.
“Hope she catches Tane’s eye, I don’t think Jo is right for him,” another wrote.

Home and Away fan spills details about Sara Wiseman
One Home and Away fan had a special encounter with Sara Wiseman on a previous production, and recounted her experience on social media.
“She is so lovely! Mercy Peak was filming at The Mad Butchers’ Sausage factory here in New Zealand many years ago, and she showed my sister and I to the lollies on set,” the fan wrote.
“My dad worked at the factory and we were with him whilst filming was happening. She was just so down to earth and kind. I was a young girl so I was blown away by an actress [being] ‘normal’. She hardly has aged, so beautiful.”
Seeing as the show films approximately five to six months in advance, we should see Sara appear on Aussie screens around February 2026.
Home and Away airs Mondays – Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
