FWAW's Yvonne reveals the real reason she dumped Farmer Jarrad: 'Not good enough for me'

Yvonne appeared to dump Farmer Jarrad during the Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW) finale because she believed he had his mind set on choosing Brodie; however, she’s told Chattr that wasn’t the case and potential rejection had nothing to do with her decision to walk away.

Yvonne said that even on the drive to the Final Choice Ceremony, at no point did she believe that Jarrad was leaning towards Brodie.

“Even the night before, I was still leaning towards [doing] what I did, but I felt like there was a 50/50 chance between myself and Brodie, and I was kind of considering, well, do I want to take that chance? But, at the end of the day, I made that decision for myself based on values and morals, and I don’t think his aligned with mine.”

When asked to explain exactly why she decided to break up with Farmer Jarrad, Yvonne said she ended the relationship because she simply didn’t believe they were compatible.

“I took my rose-colored glasses off, and when I was able to reflect on not the production side of things, not my experience, but him as a person, I’ve seen it before, and it’s not enough for me, and it’s not the kind of person I want to be with,” she told Chattr.

Yvonne added that she first started to really feel the disconnect during the black-tie dinner event in Sydney, adding that when she opened up to Farmer Jarrad about her worries, she didn’t feel like he took them seriously.

“I was feeling a lot of feels, and I don’t think he was being genuine in the sense of comforting me. You look for a partner who can be open and be vulnerable and be empathetic. I think that’s a really big one. And that night, I was like, ‘Hold on, I know I got upset at these things, but now looking at you as a person, I’m just going to put this to the back of my mind [and remember].'”

How Yvonne’s friends helped her decide to leave Farmer Wants a Wife

Yvonne added that because her friends obviously didn’t have romantic feelings for Farmer Jarrad, they were able to see things she’d been pushing aside.

“Getting to home visits, I just felt like, again, he wasn’t being open. He wasn’t asking questions about my life after spending a month on the farm, then being in my space for one day. He wasn’t curious. And then my family and friends, seeing straight through him, I was like, “Oh, okay, they can see what I [was starting to] see.”

“I had those rose-colored glasses on. I wanted to see the best in him, as I do with everyone, but I don’t think they have that perspective. They’re seeing him as a person, which is what I have seen in the end. And yeah, he’s not good enough for me.”

So, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Yvonne and Farmer Jarrad haven’t spoken since the moment she dumped him and walked off.

“We have not spoken since the ceremony,” she said. “We’ve moved on.”
