Meet the surprising Farmer Wants A Wife couple who actually get engaged on the finale

Which farmer gets engaged proposes on Farmer Wants A Wife Australia 2026

Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW) 2026 is about to deliver one of its most swoon-worthy moments yet, with Channel Seven teasing a proposal before the season is out.

In a past promo, a mystery farmer is heard asking, “Will you make me the happiest man in the world, and will you marry me?” before the woman says yes, sending fans into couch detective mode over who could be putting a ring on it.

In the teaser, you can clearly see a man showing off the diamond engagement before he gets down on one knee. Oop!

While the couple hasn’t officially been confirmed, speculation has already swirled around which couple it could be.

As it stands, the 2026 farmers have plenty of options — well, besides Farmer Alex, who left the show with Eddy. But Farmer Dylan has had sparks with both Scarlett and Ally, with Ally landing his 24-hour date before fleeing his farm only to return to steal a (rather public) kiss.

Farmer Jarrad is anyone’s guess, as he’s forged bonds with Bri and Yvonne, while Farmer Jason’s journey has taken a turn after Beth left, leaving Logan as a controversial frontrunner, alongside Poppy.

Meanwhile, Farmer Zac and Maya have been one of the season’s clearest early matches, but Mieke remains a dark horse in the race for Zac’s heart.

So who’s getting engaged? This is everything we know.

Which Farmer proposes on Farmer Wants A Wife 2026?

There’s a whole lot of speculation raging online.

In a chat with Chattr, Jarrad didn’t take too kindly about being asked whether anyone got engaged this season. “Did any of us get engaged, or could we see ourselves getting engaged in the question? Yeah, next question,” he told us. Alrighty!

However, Dylan made it clear he wasn’t getting down on one knee. “I think for me personally, I think you’d have to be the bang on right one. I feel like I need to be with someone for a few years [of dating] before I drop a knee,” he said.

But could the biggest clue point to Zac?

In an interview with New Idea, Jarrad told a journalist to ask Zac whether he ‘proposed on the show’, and Zac said: “There may have been some bending of the knees… but no comment,” before adding that he “can’t officially answer that, legally.”

New Idea even enlisted an etiquette expert to decode whether Zac was the one who had proposed. “Zac was clearly thrown into discomfort by the question,” Jo Hayes said. “He also completely diverted eye contact as he gave his response, which could indicate lying or an avoidance of telling the truth.”

So who is it? The truth is probably a little disappointing. In fact, none of the 2026 Farmers are proposing — Woman’s Day has confirmed that the Farmer who’s proposing is 2025’s Farmer, Tom Boyer, who will get engaged to his winner, Georgie Lavrey.

Apparently, their proposal was far from picture-perfect. “It was the hottest day of summer and the hottest part of the day… It was probably 44 degrees,” Tom told Woman’s Day.

“I was wearing the shirt that I was planning to propose in and it was just drenched and I had to change.”

At the same time, Georgie was suffering from heatstroke. “I almost fainted – it was the shock, the elements, all the things!” she admitted.

This news isn’t entirely surprising. Earlier this year, Georgie confirmed to Chattr that the couple are going strong. “We’re going great and very appreciative of the opportunity to go on FWAW,” Georgie told Chattr.

“The outcome was amazing!”

This isn’t the first time a previous Farmer has been brought back for a finale to heighten the stakes. David and Emily were a 2023 FWAW couple, and footage from their wedding aired during the 2025 season finale, which deceptively featured in teasers.

Farmer Wants A Wife airs at 7pm on Mondays and 7:30pm on Tuesdays on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.
