Since Farmer Wants a Wife Australia (FWAW) first kicked off in 2007, it’s produced 11 marriages, 13 long-term relationships and 28 beautiful babies, and our 2026 Farmers have weighed in on why the show is so successful.
Farmer Alex, a beef and mushroom farmer from Kin Kin, Queensland, told Chattr that he believes the effectiveness of the show simply comes down to the formula itself — unlike other shows like The Bachelor, there isn’t just one lead searching for love.
“[It’s so successful because of] the lack of competition and the fact that that’s written into the way that the show works,” he said.
He added that the fact that the cast is made up of Farmers who are generally genuine and hardworking adds to the winning formula.
“You’re cutting from a good crop when you source farmers for the show, so I think generally speaking, people in the country are respectful of the nature of this show, and thus the success is where it is for that reason.”
However, even on shows like FWAW, there are occasionally cast members looking to boost their profiles by starring on a reality show. But, Farmer Jarrad told Chattr that it was easy enough to weed out the women who were only there for clout.
“I can only speak from my experience, obviously. After going on the show, I think you can sort of pick up pretty quick the ones that are genuine after spending a bit of time with the girls,” he explained.
“I was really lucky, like I had a really lovely group of girls on my farm, so, but yeah, I don’t know, it’s just a feeling, I think. You can sort of feel it, and you can tell when someone’s being genuine and is really looking for a relationship.”

Which Farmer Wants a Wife 2025 couples are still together?
From the most recent season, three couples are still going strong; Corey and Keeley, Sarah and Jack and Tom and Georgie.
Farmer Jarrad and Chloe were the first couple to match on the 2025 season, but split before the reunion. Meanwhile, Farmer Thomas and Clarette appeared to have a strong bond, but rumours started circulating in April that they’d split.
In an interview with Chattr, Corey and Keeley shared that their relationship has been growing from strength to strength, and Corey even hinted that a proposal may be on the cards soon.
“We’re still very much together, stronger than ever, and we’ve been going great. We’ve been very, very busy, a lot of things going on lately,” Corey said.
“I think it’s just over the year and a half mark since we actually ended filming. So I moved up to the farm actually about a year ago…it’s been, yeah, really good,” Keeley added.
When asked about getting engaged in the future, Keeley made it clear she was waiting for Corey to pop the question.
“You would say you’re not engaged yet,” he asked his partner, to which she responded: “No, I keep reminding you, it’s Farmer Wants a Wife, not Farmer Wants a Girlfriend.”
“Who knows, it might be something around the corner. You just have to wait and see,” he responded.
Here’s hoping it’s sooner, rather than later!
Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW) 2026 premieres on June 8 on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
