The Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) family just got a little bigger with the arrival of married couple Andrew Guthrie and Jess Nathan’s first daughter.
Gracie Guthrie was born at Cooma Hospital on May 21, 2026. In a chat with Woman’s Day, the happy couple admitted they “borrowed” the adorable name idea from family. “We just loved the nickname GG and the way that Gracie Guthrie sounded. They let us steal it,” Jess joked.
Jess and Andrew are smitten with their newborn baby girl. “It was really amazing seeing her for the first time and after she was born she was awake for probably two hours just alert and looking at us and not crying at all,” Jess admitted.
“I thought the first few days would be a little daunting but it hasn’t been at all. She’s so much fun and just the coolest little person. We’re so in love with her.”
Andrew echoed Jess’ sentiments, adding they’ve been surprised by their early days of parenting. “She’s such a chill baby. We’ve heard some horror stories from our friends, so we consider ourselves very lucky.”
Back in December 2025, the couple announced they were expecting. “We’re so grateful to share that our little miracle is on the way. Holding close in our hearts anyone still waiting, hoping, and navigating their own journey,” they shared on Instagram.
The couple initially didn’t fall pregnant due to Jess’ struggles with endometriosis and infertility, so they enlisted the help of IVF to start their family. “It took us a bit longer to fall pregnant than we expected, which makes this feel like an especially precious gift,” the couple told Woman’s Day.
Farmer Andrew and Jess Nathan’s love story on Farmer Wants A Wife
Farmer Andrew Guthrie and Jess Nathan’s love story was one of the biggest success stories of the 2021 season of Farmer Wants A Wife.
From their very first meeting, there was obvious chemistry, with Jess quickly standing out among Andrew’s choice of women suitors. Their connection deepened when Andrew chose Jess for his special 24-hour date, giving them rare one-on-one time before the rest of the ladies arrived at the farm.
On their date, Andrew surprised Jess with a magical woolshed dinner for two, though the date soon took a very Farmer Wants A Wife turn when they had to unload a truckload of sheep together.
Rather than scare Jess off, farm life seemed to bring them closer. Throughout the season, Andrew and Jess built a calm, genuine bond that felt less like reality TV drama and more like two people quietly realising they had found something real.
By the finale, Andrew knew where his heart was, choosing Jess over Ashleigh and declaring his feelings. Jess chose him right back, with the pair leaving the show as a couple. Their love story only blossomed more after filming, with Jess later moving in with Andrew after almost a year of long distance. The couple tied the knot in March 2023.
They announced in December 2025 that Jess was pregnant after starting IVF, with Jess and Andrew calling the baby an “especially precious gift” before the couple confirmed the birth of Gracie this year.
Farmer Wants A Wife airs at 7pm on Mondays and 7:30pm on Tuesdays on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.
