Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW) may be one of the most wholesome dating shows on Australian reality TV, but do the romances ever heat up behind the scenes? And do contestants actually have sex with their chosen Farmers while filming?
Fan favourite and Farmer Dylan’s runner-up Scarlett Horizon has lifted the lid on whether anyone on her farm took things to the next level.
“I’ve gotten this question so many times, so I’m just going to put an end to this all,” she said in a TikTok clip. “Did anyone sleep with each other during the show? I can tell you right now, no one did. There are a bunch of protocols if you want to do that.”
Scarlett added that she thinks the women on her farm weren’t interested in getting intimate with Farmer Dylan before he’d made his final choice.
“I think it’s just a bit of a weird situation where, like, a guy is dating five other girls. You don’t really want to sleep with them until you know you are the one that they want at the end. So yeah, nothing happened there.”

In an interview with Chattr at the beginning of the season, Farmer Dylan confirmed that there was no hanky-panky on his farm.
“No one did it,” Farmer Dylan says. “It makes it hard… in my eyes, if I were to [have sex], I think that’s a pretty clear indication of who you’re deciding to pick, and it’s not fair on anyone else.”
He added that the whole point of FWAW was to build a connection with your future wife rather than playing the field. “If you’re on there to sleep around, then you shouldn’t be on it. You’re not looking for a wife — you’re looking for a fling.”
Meanwhile, Farmer Zac also told us that he didn’t get intimate behind closed doors during filming.
“Personally, I didn’t [have sex with anyone on the show]. I struggle enough trying to date all the Ladies at once, let alone if anything got too romantic,” he explained. “I wouldn’t want to hurt other Ladies’ feelings or anything like that.”

While Farmer Dylan’s Ladies may have kept their interactions on the farm G-Rated, the same can’t be said for a previous season.
In an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle, runner-up Krissy Smith revealed that she and Tom had sex on the overnight date, which took place during episode two.
“When I met Farmer Tom, we had a connection straight away,” Krissy told the publication. “It was obvious to me that I was his first pick and I am embarrassed to reveal we slept together on the first night at his farm.”
She added that she and Tom continued to sleep together right up until the final day, when he dumped her for Georgia.
“We had a sexual relationship right up until the day I was told he was not going to choose me in that finale. You could imagine how shocked I was to be sidelined at that point,” she said. “We had lay in bed talking at night and I couldn’t have imagined he would pick anyone else.”
