"It felt unfair."

Renae and Dylan on FWAW

Renae Morfoot and Farmer Dylan‘s chemistry was obvious from the Farmer Wants a Wife (FWAW) premiere, but their connection never seemed to grow, and Dylan didn’t ask her on a one-on-one date. After Renae confronted him and said she’d expected to be asked on the next date, he told her he wasn’t feeling a spark between them and she left the show.

In a post-elimination interview, Renae told New Idea that she doesn’t believe Farmer Dylan really tried to get to know her.

“I was disappointed that Dylan and I never had the chance to explore our connection any further,” she said.

While trying to understand why Dylan never gave their connection a chance by taking her on a one-on-one date, Renae blamed herself, saying she thinks he was turned off by how shy and reserved she was on the first day she arrived at his farm.

“I felt like he gave up on us before we really had the opportunity to see if there was any genuine potential there,” she said. “Looking back now, one of the things that hurt the most was that he never chose me for a date based on what he saw and felt that first day on the farm.”

“After such a positive start, it was difficult to understand why we never had the opportunity to explore our connection further,” she added. “At times, it felt unfair because without that one-on-one time, I never really had the chance to show him who I am or see what our connection could have been.”

Ally and Scarlett have both enjoyed plenty of one-on-one time with Farmer Dylan, and he’s made no secret of the spark he shares with each of them. Renae admitted it was hard watching those connections flourish while hers never had the chance to.

“The other girls had already spent quality one-on-one time with Dylan and had opportunities to build those early foundations, while I was still waiting for that chance,” she said. “It made it difficult to know where I stood and to fully explore what our connection could have been.”

What Renae learnt from her relationship with Farmer Dylan

Dylan and Renae’s final conversation on FWAW ended with Renae running off in tears and begging to go home after Dylan told her that he thought their spark had disappeared. Renae told the publication that while it was heartbreaking at the time, she’s come out stronger.

“At the time, that was quite hurtful and difficult to process,” she said. “However, looking back, it’s taught me to not chase something that isn’t equally pursued and trust that the right person will choose me just as much as I choose them.”

“I’m still looking for love. My time on the show helped me find a new level of confidence in myself, and for that I’m incredibly grateful.”

Despite remaining hopeful about finding love, Renae doesn’t think another reality show is the right way for her to meet someone.

“I don’t think I’d go on another reality TV show to find what I’m looking for,” she said. “I’ve learned that I’m not going to rush the process; I believe the right person will come along when the timing is right.

“And when I do meet someone, I hope there’s a genuine connection, plenty of laughter and maybe a few extraordinary dates along the way.”
