MAFS 2026 Sam and Chris

Married At First Sight (MAFS) has featured another same-sex couple in this year’s experiment: Sam Stanton and Chris Robinson. This will be the fourth time that MAFS has ever seen a same-sex couple take part in the experiment. In 2016 Craig Roach and Andy John made history as the first gay couple on the show.

In 2020, Amanda Micallef and Tash Herz made were the first lesbian couple, and Michael Fleix and Stephen Stewart also appeared on MAFS in 2024.

This year’s groom, Sam, 34, is a charismatic, tall, dark, and handsome boy-next-door from Adelaide. He not only resembles Colin Firth but also owns a successful spin studio called Studio 360 Sports.

Sam is paired with groom Chris, 38, who is a gym and farm owner from Queensland now in Sydney. He is kind and generous, a self-confessed neat freak, and admits he avoids tough conversations and isn’t perfect.

The question remains whether Sam and Chris’s relationship will withstand the challenges ahead, including the revelation that Chris is about to become a first-time father. Keep reading to find out whether Sam and Chris make it all the way through the experiment.

What is Sam looking for in a partner?

Sam is a self-confessed romantic at heart. He’s incredibly close to his parents and credits their long, loving marriage for shaping the high standards he brings into the experiment. He describes himself as a “slow burner,” and someone who needs a deep emotional connection before fully giving his heart. He’s hoping his future husband not only respects that pace but also values it.

Sam is seeking a partner who is both masculine and emotionally mature, yet enjoys playful moments, like singing loudly to Taylor Swift, and is comfortable with outdoor activities such as camping.

What is Chris looking for in a partner?

Chris knows exactly what he’s looking for when it comes to his future partner. He wants a kind and generous masculine man, someone who not only joins him in getting muddy on the farm but also loves getting dressed up for a night out and has that same desire to build a family together.

Are Sam and Chris still together?

Sam and Chris have only just tied the knot so there isn’t much to go on about their current relationship status. Notably, Chris has yet to share that he is about to become a father, choosing to wait since Sam has openly said that he isn’t ready for children just yet.

However, in an interview with Chattr, Sam stated that having kids would not be a problem for him as he admitted he didn’t expect Chris to have kids quite literally on the way. He explained that if someone is a perfect match, future children would not deter him. “Having kids on the way is not going to be a problem, because I’m open to that, he said.”

Another hint that these two might go the distance is that Sam told Chattr he and Chris are still in contact. It looks like we just have to keep watching to see their love story unfold!

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
