Married at First Sight Australia fans are concerned about 2024 duo Timothy Smith and Lucinda Light‘s friendship after noticing something suss on Instagram.

While their romantic relationship turned to dust during the 11th season of the marriage experiment, Timothy and Lucinda left the show the best of friends.

Viewers loved following along on social media as their platonic relationship evolved post-filming. However, they’ve since clocked onto the fact that the pair no longer follow each other on Instagram.

But wait! There’s more: Timothy and Lucinda also appear to be untagged in photos on each other’s account, which indicates that they may have blocked one another.

While neither Lucinda nor Timothy has addressed the unprecedented social media change, Yahoo Lifestyle reported that it follows the TV groom sharing a pointed TikTok on June 9.

“As I went about my day yesterday, it made me think about time and how valuable time is,” he said. “If people don’t respect your time — and respect is a big word — if they don’t appreciate or respect the time that you give people, cut them out.

“Get rid of them.”

The 51-year-old added that “time is the most valuable commodity”.

“We give it out so flippantly for free, and if you don’t respect it and appreciate it, then get rid of them,” he continued.

“Don’t let anyone waste one minute of your life and time because if they don’t respect it, they don’t deserve to have it.”

The outlet also pointed out that Lucinda unfollowed her former TV flame on June 10, as per analytics site SocialBlade, which showed her account unfollowed 24 people that day.

MAFS 2024 participants weigh in on Lucinda and Timothy’s friendship

One of the duo’s MAFS 2024 castmates told Yahoo Lifestyle that they were just a shocked as fans to learn Lucinda and Timothy no longer follow each other.

They suspected that the tension is only recent, and may be due to Lucinda being “too busy” to nurture the friendship as she once did.

Another MAFS star said “there’s a lot of resentment towards Lucinda because she’s getting the most work and opportunities” post-show.

However, they didn’t think Tim would be “jealous” of her blossoming career like some of the other participants.

It comes after Lucinda announced her second speaking tour across the UK, which will take place in October and November.

Disney has cast its lead in the Moana live-action remake and she’s got a very famous dad

Over a year since revealing that the beloved 2016 film Moana is getting a live-action remake, Disney has announced who will play the titular character in the upcoming movie.

Sharing the news on the Walt Disney Company’s official Instagram account on June 13, the entertainment conglomerate revealed that newcomer Catherine Laga’aia has been cast in the role originated by Auli’i Cravalho in the animated version — which is set for a sequel come November 27 this year.

“I’m really excited to embrace this character because Moana is one of my favourites,” the 17-year-old expressed in a press release.

“My grandfather comes from Fa‘aala, Palauli, in Savai‘i. And my grandmother is from Leulumoega Tuai on the main island of ‘Upolu in Samoa.”

Laga’aia, who hails from Sydney, Australia, added: “I’m honoured to have an opportunity to celebrate Samoa and all Pacific Island peoples, and to represent young girls who look like me.”

The live-action Moana remake will be Laga’aia’s first feature film.

She broke into the industry in 2023, having appeared in Prime Video’s TV series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.

Who is Catherine Laga’aia’s famous father?

The Disney protégé follows in the footsteps of her father, singer and actor Jay Laga’aia.

The 60-year-old is known for his past hosting gig on Play School, and his role as Captain Typho in the Star Wars prequel films.

Taking to Instagram on June 13, Laga’aia shared that he and his family are “pleased” to reveal that his daughter will take on the Moana legacy.

Who else is in the live-action Moana remake?

Moana will also see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reprise his role as the demigod Maui.

Meanwhile, John Tui has been cast as Chief Yu. Joining him is Frankie Adams as Moana’s mother, Sina, and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala.

The film is set to kick off production in the coming months and will hit cinemas on July 10, 2026.

Major congrats are in order for Brittany Hockley and Ben Siegrist, who announced their engagement on Thursday night (June 12).

The lovebirds shared their joyous news on Instagram with a series of stunning selfies on a beach, both dressed in white, with a smiling Brittany showing off her new bling after her beau popped the question during a trip to Hamilton Island.

Brittany captioned her post with, “In any lifetime it’s a YES! Just two people loving each other for the rest of our lives.”

On her Instagram Story, she added that “forever looks pretty darn spectacular.”

Brittany and Ben’s love story began in November 2022 when they matched on the celebrity dating app, Raya.

Ben, a Swiss goalkeeper, was in Sydney for a match against Sydney FC, and the two hit it off immediately. Their long-distance relationship blossomed, leading to this magical engagement.

Though they’ve spent a lot of time apart due to Ben’s football career with Celtic FC in Scotland, Brittany and Ben have been making it work.

In the most recent season of the reality series, Brittany divulged that she’s already taken measures towards having kids with Ben.

“Different people’s fertility deteriorates at different rates,” she said at the time, adding, “Mine’s not great.”

“I froze some eggs to be safe, then when Ben and I met and decided we wanted to be together with what we knew we thought we’d have a better chance at having kids if we froze some embryos.”

Brittany shared that their embryo journey was a success, and opened up about the legalities behind it.

“I’m very happy to say we got three embryos, so it’s a weight off my shoulder in a sense, but it’s also something I think about all the time,” she said.

“It is both of ours obviously, it’s made. So, you have to both sign to use it, and you have to sign off if one of you dies what you want if you die are you happy for them to use it without you.

“Nothing is a guarantee in life. It’s one of those things where I think I talk myself out of whether I want kids, and I think that’s because I know I might not be able to. I feel like I just need to do it deal with it and figure it out.”

The FBOY Island Australia host dropped a not-so-subtle jab at a former flame in a recent Instagram Story after confirming her “really healthy relationship” with Peking Duk musician Adam Hyde.

Taking to the ‘gram, Abbie shared a clip of herself with the caption: “When the guy you’re dating is actually talented and you don’t have to pretend to like his art xx.”

Abbie’s diss comes after she revealed during a recent episode of her podcast, It’s A Lot, that she and Adam are in a monogamous relationship.

The revelation came about during a Q&A episode featuring her boyfriend, during which she admitted she had concerns that Adam would want to be “open” as he’d been in previous relationships, and also given his career as a touring DJ.

Movie star Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, are welcoming fans into their lives with the announcement of their all-new reality show, The Baldwins.

The world-renowned actor first rose to fame in the 80s when he appeared in the final two seasons of prime-time soap Knots Landing.

He then went on to star in blockbuster hits such as Beetlejuice, The Hunt for Red October and The Cooler, as well as the iconic sitcom 30 Rock.

Following his 2002 divorce from Kim Basinger — with whom he shares a daughter, Ireland — Alec began dating a then-named Hillary Hayward-Thomas in 2011. The couple wed a year later in 2012.

What controversies have Alec and Hilaria Baldwin had?

The Baldwins‘ announcement comes as Alec awaits his July trial for his manslaughter indictment following the death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

If convicted of involuntary manslaughter, the 66-year-old faces up to 18 months in prison. He is accused of negligently pointing his gun at the cinematographer and pulling the trigger while preparing to film a scene.

As one of Rust‘s producers, Baldwin has also been faulted for adding to lax on-set safety standards.

Meanwhile, his wife, Hilaria, has been at the centre of her own controversy in recent years.

Most notably, she has been criticised for alleging to be Spanish, despite being Boston-born to American parents.

Why ‘The Boys’ is wrapping up with season 5

Buckle up, fans of The Boys! The wild ride of our favourite anti-superhero series is coming to a close. Eric Kripke, the mastermind behind the show, has officially announced that Season 5 will be the grand finale.

Just before the highly anticipated premiere of Season 4 on 13 June on Prime Video, Kripke took to social media, teasing fans with a final script page that cheekily read, “SEE YOU FOR OUR FINAL SEASON, MOTHERF***ERS!”

Why are The Boys calling it quits now?

Kripke has always had a clear vision for the series’ endpoint.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he shared, “From the very beginning, I wanted to wrap it out around season five. And then I would say plans really solidified that we were going to actually do it years ago.”

For Kripke, five seasons felt like the perfect length to tell the complex story of The Boys.

He added, “It might have been because I was trained as a TV writer and there were five acts. It gives you enough time to get to know the characters… It’s about the characters and then you kick off into a climax.”

The future of The Boys universe

Though The Boys is ending, its universe is far from over.

Kripke revealed that spinoff shows like Gen V and the animated anthology Diabolical will keep the spirit of The Boys alive. He expressed his hopes for the franchise, saying, “Look, I love this universe and this is the best job I’ve ever had; so, hopefully Gen V will continue.”

Even with media companies tightening their budgets, The Boys remains a flagship series for Amazon, which gives it a certain level of freedom.

Kripke noted, “We get a level of freedom that it’ll be hard to repeat anywhere. That said, we have budget battles. But, ultimately, we figure out a way.”

What’s next in Season 4?

As we gear up for Season 4, which premieres on 13 June on Prime Video, the stakes are higher than ever.

Victoria Neuman is inching closer to the Oval Office, with Homelander tightening his grip on power. Butcher, on borrowed time, must rally his fractured team to save the world.

The series continues to offer a fresh and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes abuse their powers. Intent on stopping the corrupt ‘supes’, The Boys expose the dark secrets of The Seven and the Vought conglomerate that manages them.

Many phrases have become synonymous with MasterChef Australia, and fans have scrounged them together to cook up a cheeky lil’ drinking game to play while watching the show.

Because, y’know, watching people battle it out by way of croquembouche assembly isn’t entertaining enough.

Taking to the MasterChefAU page on Reddit, one user posted a thread titled “Drinking game” before launching into said game’s rules.

What are the fan-made rules of the MasterChef Australia drinking game?

“When Savi mentions Sri Lanka. When Lachlan mentions his daughter. When JC bangs the table. When Alex‘s laugh seems just a liiiittle bit scary. When you swear you heard Sofia lisping,” the Redditor highlighted the moments that should motivate players to drink.

It wasn’t long before other MasterChef fans began garnishing the game with their own prompts.

“When JC bangs the table, say superb AND fantastique in a single judging,” one viewer added.

Yep, a spokesperson for Channel 10 confirmed that Andy, Poh, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli will return to yuck the contestants’ yums next season, after rumours swirled they would be replaced by OG judges George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston.

Five years after Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli rose to fame on Married at First Sight Australia, fans are calling for the couple to make a return to reality TV.

Ever since the duo found love in the marriage experiment in 2019, punters have loved watching via social media as they got engaged IRL before welcoming their first child, Lucius.

Since the birth of their son in February 2023, Martha has taken to TikTok to document more of her family’s day-to-day lives.

As the former TV bride welcomed fans into the home she shares with her parents, her followers have been vocal in suggesting the family get their own reality TV show, mainly to showcase Martha’s mother Mary‘s quick wit and savage comebacks.

For months, Marvel fans and Swifties have been theorising that the Love Story songstress has nabbed a role in the Deadpool franchise‘s third instalment, which is set to hit cinemas on July 26.

While it would be epic to see Swift trade her bedazzled Eras Tour leotards for a supersuit, fans will have to wait a while longer for that dream to come to fruition.

Yep, Entertainment Weekly exclusively reported on June 10 that the musician won’t appear in Deadpool & Wolverine.

So, why were people so hellbent that she would?

Rumours that Swift was Deadpool & Wolverine‘s secret weapon went into overdrive in October 2023 when she was spotted with the film’s stars, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, as they cheered on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, at a Kansas City Chief’s NFL game.

Also in attendance was the movie’s director, Shawn Levy, who — for keen-eyed Swifties — appeared in the singer’s self-directed All Too Well: The Short Film.

Entertainment Weekly debunked the Swift x Marvel rumours just as IMAX debuted a new poster for the film that featured Reynold’s Deadpool and Jackman’s Wolverine sporting friendship bracelets.

But what does the accessory have to do with Swift’s apparent link to Deadpool & Wolverine, you ask?

Well, friendship bracelets became synonymous with the star’s worldwide Eras Tour after the release of her Midnights album track, You’re On Your Own Kid, which features the lyrics: “So make the friendship bracelets/Take the moment and taste it.”

Ever since, making friendship bracelets en masse has bonded Swifties, who trade them when attending the tour.

Adding fuel to the fire, Levy and Reynolds have failed to confirm nor deny their buddy’s involvement in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Chatting to Fandango in May, Reynolds said that “straight-up dishonesty isn’t in the cards” when addressing the rumours.

“Movies like this, there’s so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film. I saw one that was convinced Elvis was in the movie,” he said.

“Anything can happen and that’s sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”

For those who need a refresher, Practical Magic is the beloved tale of the witchy Owens sisters, played by Bullock and Kidman, who find themselves in a supernatural mess when Bullock’s character accidentally kills Kidman’s abusive ex-boyfriend.

The original film, directed by Griffin Dunne and adapted from Alice Hoffman’s 1995 novel, is a spooky season staple and a must-watch for anyone into witchy vibes and crystal magic.

The buzz begins

Fans started buzzing with excitement when Warner Bros. made an official announcement on Instagram on Monday (June 10) at midnight.

The studio even shared a nostalgic clip from the iconic “midnight margaritas” scene, where characters Sally Owens (Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Kidman) dance to the song Coconut.The text overlay on the clip read, “Me & the girls finding out that Practical Magic 2 is happening.”

The caption confirmed, “It’s official… Practical Magic 2 is coming!”​

What we know so far

The screenplay for the new film will be penned by Akiva Goldsman, and Bullock and Kidman are not only expected to star but also to produce alongside Denise Di Novi.

The sequel will reportedly follow the Owens sisters as they navigate new magical challenges and family curses, keeping the legacy alive for a new generation.

Back in 2019, HBO Max was working on a series adaptation of Hoffman’s prequel novel The Rules of Magic, which focused on the Owens family in the 1960s. Although this series never materialised, the enduring fandom for the cult flick kept hope alive for a return to the magical world.

“Thrown a spanner in the works”: MasterChef Australia’s Josh Clarke reflects on exit

Sunday’s episode of MasterChef Australia 2024 saw the elimination of Queensland coffee roaster Josh Clarke after contestants were tasked with recreating iconic meat dishes using only plant-based ingredients.

The challenge was one of the most daunting yet, as contestants faced a pantry devoid of any meat, eggs, butter, or milk. In the end, Josh’s ambitious carrot steak failed to hit the mark with the judges.

Chattr caught up with Josh C following his exit from MasterChef Australia to talk about his fateful final dish, his favourite part of the experience and everything in between.

From the get-go, Joshua sensed the challenge would be his downfall.

“I feel fine, to be honest. It was my least favourite challenge that I wasn’t really confident in, so I wasn’t overly shocked with the result,” he confessed.

“Initially, I thought it was vegetarian. I was planning to use eggs or butter to add depth, but no eggs, no butter, no milk at all, and it completely threw a spanner in the works for me.”

While many contestants gravitated towards mushrooms, Josh chose a daring path with his carrot steak.

“When people think vegetarian or vegan, the first thing everyone thinks of is mushrooms. I did as well. But I knew it was going to be the popular choice, so I wanted to do something different,” he explained.

His goal was to stand out with a bold, creative dish, but the execution fell short and the judges found his carrot steak undercooked and lacking the texture of a real steak.

“Looking back, I wouldn’t change it. I would try and do it again but elevate it even more,” Josh added.

Heartfelt memories and lifelong friendships

While his departure may have been bittersweet, Josh is grateful for the valuable friendships he made during the show.

“Being a part of this has been an incredible experience. Just getting into the session with like-minded people who all share the same passion and desire for cooking and feeding people, that, for me, is the biggest highlight of the whole experience,” he said.

Looking ahead after Masterchef Australia

As he steps away from the MasterChef kitchen, Joshua plans to focus on his family and recharge.

“I don’t have anything concrete coming up at the moment. I’m gonna do my best to maintain the social media presence, but at the moment, you know, I kind of just need to get back to my family and decompress,” he shared.

Who will claim the Masterchef 2024 crown?

With the competition fiercer than ever, Joshua couldn’t single out a favourite for the win.

“We’re at top 10 now; every single person that’s part of that top 10 absolutely has an equal shot at winning the whole thing. They all have their own skills, their own stories, and their own way of showing that on a plate,” he said.

MasterChef Australia fans lash out at guest judge Curtis Stone for being “harsh” and “unpleasant”

MasterChef Australia fans had a lot to say about 2024 guest judge Curtis Stone, taking to social media to point out that, well, he’s “a bit of a pr*ck”.

The world-renowned chef and Coles ambassador first appeared in the latest season of the competition to cook against the contestants, before returning in the next episode to task them with creating a fusion sauce.

However, while a bit of eye candy didn’t go amiss, it seems viewers could’ve done without Curtis’ “harsh” behaviour towards the amateur cooks.

“Tonight’s episode just showcased what a jerk Curtis Stone is…disappointing. Contestants deserved better,” one viewer wrote on X (formally known as Twitter).

Another wondered whether he was trying to encroach on Gordon Ramsay‘s persona, which is widely regarded as a smidge brash.

A third MasterChef fan wrote: “I don’t recall Curtis being this unpleasant in past seasons.”

“Well I think regardless of who the judges decide to eliminate after this challenge the real big takeaway from the whole this is that Curtis Stone is a bit of a pr*ck,” a fourth brutally penned.

Turns out it’s not just the viewers who thought Curtis was a bit jarring.

Chatting to Chattr after her elimination in the June 5 episode of MasterChef, Sue Bazely said the chef’s personality “didn’t match” what she “thought he would be like”.

Explaining that fellow guest judge Jamie Oliver gave the contestants “a bit of time to come up for some air”, Sue said that wasn’t the case with Curtis.

“He was on a mission, he really wanted to test us,” she recalled. “I found him really tough.”

Recently, she won an immunity challenge with her unique InTALIAN Simmer Sauce, a delicious blend of Indian and Italian flavours that secured her a spot in the top 10 and her sauce sold in Coles stores nationwide.

Sumeet’s inspiration for her winning sauce came naturally from her heritage and love for Italian cuisine.

“With my background, when the challenge came up for a fusion sauce, I had to lean into my biggest strength, which is my heritage,” she told Chattr.

“I really know my Indian spices well, and combining that with Italian food, which I’ve always loved, felt like the most natural choice Both cuisines are all about warmth, generosity, big families, and shared memories.”

With her heart and soul poured into the sauce, it’s no wonder Sumeet’s creation stood out!

And Sumeet’s already got her sights set on what’s next.

“There are plans for more fusion sauces,” she revealed. “My mind has always been buzzing with ideas, but life and bills sometimes take over. Now, thanks to MasterChef, I can finally bring these ideas to life.”

“Indian cuisine is already a melting pot of various influences, and I want to show how versatile and unifying it can be.”

Sumeet dishes tips for home cooks

Sumeet’s winning dish featured InTALIAN meatballs served with naan and oregano chilli butter—a combo that had everyone talking.

If you’re keen to whip up a similar fusion dish at home, Sumeet has some top tips: “This sauce is incredibly versatile. You could pair it with pasta, use it in a curry, or even as a pizza base. It’s about breaking out of the typical boxes we put cuisines in and getting creative.”

They’re making moves! The Block’s Steph and Gian unveil their latest project

The Block 2023 winners Steph and Gian Ottavio have shared with fans that they have a brand new project on the horizon and it sounds incredible!

From pocketing a whopping $1.75 million on auction day to launching their own homewares brand, Japandi Estate, there’s no denying the childhood sweethearts are only going from strength to strength.

Now, seven months after their record-breaking win, Steph and Gian have revealed they’re diving headfirst into another renovation.

Taking to TikTok in early June, the pair shared a video of the first home they ever renovated in Bexley, NSW, which they recently sold for $1.825 million.

The clip then switched to a new property, with the couple captioning the post: “From one house to the other.

Word of Steph and Gian’s exciting new project comes after speculation they’d return to The Block, namely with Steph as a judge.

While the 27-year-old was flattered by fans’ suggestion she pick up the role, the architect said she didn’t want to take the job away from the show’s current judges.

“I would love to come back on more of like a consultant level to chat with the contestants and help them achieve what they need to achieve when they get to judging,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“I feel like that’s where you should start, I don’t think it’s fair for me to be a judge straight away, I think that I need to earn a few more stripes to then be on a panel of such an esteemed cohort of judges.”

Abbie Chatfield and boyfriend Adam Hyde discuss if they’re monogamous in spicy Q&A

Abbie Chatfield and her newly unveiled boyfriend, Adam Hyde, have spilled a truck-ton of tea about their relationship and safe to say, nothing was off the table.

ICYMI: Abbie confirmed in the June 4 episode of her It’s A Lot podcast that yes, as fans had suspected, she’s dating Adam, who is one-half of music duo Peking Duk. He also performs as a solo artist under the stage name Keli Holiday.

In the episode, the pair shared that they’re “so in love” and “have a really healthy relationship”.

Now, in a follow-up episode hosted by Abbie’s bestie Kath Ebbs, the FBOY Island Australia host and her beau answered fans’ burning questions about their romance.

Are Abbie Chatfield and Adam Hyde monogamous?

Before revealing she was dating Adam, Abbie confirmed to fans that her new relationship was monogamous.

“I am really not in a position to be in an open relationship right now because of how traumatised my brain is,” she said in March.

Most publicly, Abbie was in an open relationship with The Bachelorette Australia‘s Konrad Bien Stephen, whom she dated for less than a year in 2021.

In the June 7 episode of It’s A Lot, Abbie said she had concerns that Adam would want to be “open” as he’d been in previous relationships, and also given his career as a touring DJ.

However, when she expressed she wanted to be “monogamous”, Adam was all for it.

“We’ll talk about [being open] down the line,” Abbie said, with Adam adding that they’re “more monogamous than we originally thought”.

“But who’s to say, we’re open to having that conversation down the line,” he admitted.

Will Abbie Chatfield and Adam Hyde move in together?

When asked whether they’d move in together, it was a quick “yeah” from both Abbie and Adam.

“We’re pretty much living together right now, to be fair,” Adam confessed. “But, yeah, I’d like that.”

While Abbie, who rose to fame on The Bachelor 2019, said they planned to wait until her home renovations were finished to make the move official, their living situation would be a tad different from a traditional de facto relationship.

“It wouldn’t be the same as other people living together, because he goes away and I go away…he’s basically FIFO [fly in, fly out],” she explained.

“So, it’s not like we’re living together, and we’re together all the time and every day, forever.”

It seems Abbie is living what might be every musician-loving gal’s dream, as Adam dished that he’s written “a couple of songs” about his bae.

He then revealed that one of the songs, Two-Bit Soldier, will feature on his upcoming Keli Holiday album.

“Some would say I’m his muse,” Abbie joked. “Some would say that.”

For all MasterChef Australia contestants, winning the series is their dream. However, 2024 contestant Sumeet Saigal just discovered the icing on the cake.

During the June 7 episode of the hit cooking competition, the remaining 11 home cooks were tasked with creating a “fusion sauce” for guest judge Curtis Stone.

While the winning sauce would land the lucky contender a spot in the top 10, they’d also win a once-in-a-lifetime deal to have their creation sold in Coles stores nationwide.

It was Sumeet who out-sauced her co-stars with her InTALIAN Simmer Sauce — a unique blend of Indian and Italian flavours.

Ahead of her challenge win, Sumeet declared the opportunity to have her sauce on shelves a “better’ victory than taking out the whole competition.

“Just for me to get these judges to taste a bit of my dream is so profound, because winning this challenge would be better than winning MasterChef Australia 2024,” she said.

“There’s a lot of pressure.”

MAFS’ Melinda spills how her relationship with ex Layton fares and spoiler alert, it’s not great

Considering they were one of the strongest pairings to come from MAFS 2023, fans were #devo when the duo confirmed they’d gone their separate ways in October 2023.

Now, months on from their breakup, Melinda has taken to Instagram to share some insight into whether she and her former flame are still in touch.

“We don’t currently talk, no,” she explained on her Instagram Story in June.

“Things, I would say, didn’t get left on the best terms and I think from my side it was best to stop contact.”

The 34-year-old added that their split was “hard to talk about” as she felt protective over Layton.

“I believe that we went through enough to still be amicable if we ran into each other if we needed something from each other,” Melinda confessed.

“I still like to protect him when I can when I see something online. But in regards to actually talking to each other, we don’t.”

The beauty entrepreneur said that she “stopped contact” with Layton at the time of their split to preserve her “mental health”.

Home and Away’s Georgie Parker announces she’s “recovering well” after major surgery

Home and Away mainstay Georgie Parker has shared that she’s “recovering well” as she reveals her recent health struggles.

Having been MIA from Summer Bay for some time, the 59-year-old — who has played Roo Stewart on the popular soap for 14 years — took to Instagram to fill fans in on her absence.

“I’ve been busy. Finishing a play and then straight into another theatre (get it) for a new hip,” Georgie penned, revealing the replacement is her “second in six years”.

“Thank god I had the same brilliant surgeon and his team.”

Alongside a carousel of photos from her time in hospital and recovery, she continued: “I hate the drugs but love the rehab. I’m three weeks post-op, recovery is going well.

“I’ve had the most brilliant support from my family, my workplace and my incredible friends. Practicing patience now while I heal… so I can get back to work baby.”

Fans rally around Georgie Parker following surgery

Flocking to the comment section, fans rallied around the Home and Away star.

“I’m waiting for my first hip to be done, at the grand old age of 49, can’t wait to be out of pain but the thought of the op scares me to death,” one user penned.

“Nice to see you’ve had your second done and are still smiling, hoping I’m still smiling after mine. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

A second added: “Hope you’re on the mend soon Georgie! Rest up and take it easy.”

“Look at you glowing, amazing woman! And all brand-new with that new hip,” a third wrote.

Meanwhile, another follower asked Georgie for advice for those needing a hip operation, to which she replied: “I was 40 when first diagnosed, and waited till I was 54 to have it done.

“I have scoliosis which has compromised my pelvic stability. All good now hopefully. The replacements last a lot longer now so I hope you get some relief very soon.”

In a previous chat with Now to Love, Georgie discussed her scoliosis diagnosis and initial hip replacement in 2018.

“It’s like I have a different body,” she said at the time. “It was a big operation but four days later, I twisted my body to the left and I hadn’t been able to do that for 10 years.”

Her hip issues stem from being diagnosed with scoliosis at just 13 years old.

“It changed the way I did things but it didn’t stop me doing things. I was a very good tennis player and I was very good at softball and all of a sudden I had to play with my brace on,” she told the outlet.

“I had to go into hospital every three months and have X-rays and blood tests, so it was quite serious, but I didn’t feel any different. So, in my mind, it was bad, but it wasn’t that bad.

“I was determined… I figured out how to make it work for me whilst doing what I wanted to do.”
