Snakes, drama & reality TV: Samantha Moitzi compares I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025 to MAFS

Former MAFS bride Samantha Moitzi was the first contestant to be eliminated from I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025.

The bubbly blonde was sent packing after receiving the fewest votes from the Australian public to keep her in the competition.

Although Samantha’s time in the jungle was cut short, she’s certainly no stranger to long stints on reality TV. During her time on MAFS, she and her TV husband Al Perkins almost made it to the Finals Vows ceremony but chose to leave the experiment during the prior Commitment Ceremony.

Reflecting on her time on the two reality shows, Samantha told Chattr in an interview that they were “completely different”.

“Having dinner at a MAFS Dinner Party compared to having dinner in the jungle with celebrities was a big difference,” she laughed.

Samantha added that the difference between the two reality shows was one of the reasons she decided to join the I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025 cast in the first place.

“The first reality TV show I did was all about love and being connected to one other person. Whereas this was about me, my journey, and being able to really get out of my comfort zone.”

“The cameras are on you 24/7 with I’m a Celebrity and it’s all about building connections and growing yourself, pushing yourself, and it’s led with kindness. I feel like I was really able to be my vulnerable self.”

Although Samantha admits that MAFS is the reason she got asked to be on I’m a Celebrity, she revealed that she’ll be tuning in her former co-stars in the South African jungle this year, rather than watching the new batch of brides and grooms.

“I actually haven’t watched MAFS since I’ve been on it; it’s quite triggering,” she said. “I wish the couples the best, but I think I’ll probably be spending my time watching my other campmates do fun things that I wish I was doing with them. I think I’ll be watching I’m a Celebrity this year.”

Who does Samantha think will win I’m a Celebrity?

Samantha confidently listed off three names when asked who she thinks will take home the crown on I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025.

“My top three is Sam [Thaiday], Reggie [Bird] and Max [Balegde], and I reckon everyone knows it.”

Could Reggie take out her third reality TV win? Time will tell!

I’m a Celebrity Australia… Get Me Out Of Here Australia 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Thursdays at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

MAFS 2025 Episode 5 Recap: Ryan drops his bride (and dignity)

The more Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 weddings we have, the less likely we are to remember everyone come May 2025. That is only a good thing.

There were a lot of terrible people to write about for this MAFS recap. Let’s meet them.

Tony’s cousin is baffled by Morena’s age

The producers are working overtime to make Tony seem likeable by showing outtakes from his kitchen. Morena, who he’s been matched with, is doing more with her life at 57 than I am at 34.

The audience meets Morena, age 57, during her first episode on MAFS 2025.
And more with her makeup and for that, I am jealous. Image: Nine.

Morena was in a shit relationship for a couple of decades and has found herself a la Elizabeth Gilbert since, something she would like to express with her wedding dress choice. Considering Tony is wearing a maroon velvet suit, we are convinced they are a good MAFS 2025 match.

Tony and Morena exchanging vows on their MAFS wedding day.
So quirky! Image: Nine.

They seem to get along and vibe each other’s European-ness. But Tony’s cousin is not impressed by Morena’s age which is four years Tony’s senior. “Holy moly, that’s old!” he tells Tony upon finding out they exist within the same decade.

Tony and his cousin discuss Morena's age during MAFS 2025.
Dude she’s the same generation as you!!!! Image: Nine.

He thinks Tony is ageing rather well and should be able to “get away” with someone between the ages of 38-42, which is rather specific.

Ah yes, that’s exactly what I’m thinking as I get my Botox injected — “This will help me get away with dating someone 10 years my junior even though dating someone 4 years my senior would be incomprehensible.”

Ugh.

Jacqui and Ryan are truly the worst

Oh, how I hate this MAFS 2025 couple.

Jacqui puts together pitch decks to convince people why they should be together. I laugh, but I would love to see one of these PowerPoints. She mentions being a model twice in the episode and even says something about being Miss New Zealand.

I heard you the first time. Image: Nine.

Ryan also sucks. He’s kind of full of himself and reckons he will live to 110 — something that will be more achievable if he can find a wife. He says “warrior” a lot.

Ryan during a MAFS voxie.
You’ve triggered my nostalgic brain, Xena. Image: Nine.

They were both bullied which doesn’t do the job of making me hate them any less.

Jacqui also hates Ryan: Warrior Princess because he:

  • Is not blonde
  • Has facial hair
  • Wrote his vows
  • Does not offer his jacket in the cold
  • Does not have a favourable choice in dog
Jacqui judging Ryan on their MAFS wedding day.
Your dog sounds like a little bitch. Image: Nine.

Jacqui doesn’t hate the fact that he dropped her on the dancefloor; however, the Warrior Princess is mortified and begs the producers not to make her the laughingstock of the nation by airing the moment on national television.

How nice of him to consider her dignity.

MAFS fans have tracked down Tim’s old band and it’s rough

When we first met Tim Gromie during the Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 premiere episode at the bucks party, no one could have assumed he’d come through and quickly steal the villain crown from Eliot Donovan, but he somehow nabbed the title of Worst Groom Ever after his disastrous wedding to Katie Johnston.

In case you need a refresher, Tim was less than impressed after meeting his bride, calling her a “lovely girl” on camera before chucking a hissy fit when he thought he wasn’t being filmed. He later repetitively said to producers (and then to Katie herself) that he didn’t feel a “spark” and that his type was someone “short, petite and blonde or brunette.”

Now Tim has reportedly deleted most of his social media, with a source telling Daily Mail Australia that Tim wanted “nothing to do with the show anymore” after he finished filming MAFS. “Tim felt like the experts had really let him down, and he wasn’t shy about making his frustrations known. It got to the point where he didn’t want to be associated with the show at all,” the insider added.

It definitely wasn’t love at first sight for Tim when he met Katie. Image: Nine

MAFS fans unearth Tim’s pop-punk band

While Tim is keeping a low profile, it’s hard to hide from the eagle-eyed MAFS fans who often turn into detectives during the seasons. Now some have unearthed Tim’s band on Instagram, with the 38-year-old seen playing the drums for the band called The Last Dance.

While as aforementioned Tim has obviously deleted his social media, he’s also not mentioned at all in the band’s bio, and the band hasn’t been active on Instagram since July 2024.

One video shows them doing a cover of hit Paramore song Misery Business and, look, it’s… rough. Should a band of men enthusiastically be singing the line “Once a whore you’re nothing more”? Probably not.

MAFS fans have started leaving comments on the band’s page, especially the images of Tim. “Well this didn’t age well, did it,” one person said, with another leaving a vomiting face emoji.

Aussie music fans give warning to MAFS’ Tim

Over on TikTok, fans have also noticed Tim sporting a tattoo of Australian metal band The Amity Affliction, with the design for their album Let The Ocean Take Me. Needless to say, fans weren’t impressed. “God forbid we see you in a moshpit, son,” one person said on TikTok. “We don’t claim him,” another fan added.

@annoying90skid I love the internet #amityaffliction #taa #mafs #mafsaustralia #marriedatfirstsight #comments ♬ original sound – 𝕝𝕠𝕫𝕫𝕪 🌙

Best of luck at the next hardcore show Tim, it may be best to wear a mask.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

I’m a Celebrity 2025: Sigrid Thornton on her badass feminist mum and getting arrested

We’re getting a serious history lesson from Sigrid Thornton on I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025, who, it turns out, has a pretty epic mum.

First, the Aussie screen icon opened up about her recent ADHD diagnosis, and now, in the episode that aired on February 2, Sigrid shone a spotlight on her late mum, Merle Thornton, a feminist who was an absolute force of nature.

Merle famously chained herself to the bar of Brisbane’s Regatta Hotel to protest Queensland’s ban on women drinking in public bars — a move that would go on to change history.

Here’s what we learned about the iconic Merle, and how she shaped Sigrid’s fearless spirit… even if it did land her in a jail cell!

“A radical feminist from the early days”

Chatting with award-winning comedian Geraldine Hickey and social media star Max Balegde at the I’m a Celebrity basecamp, Sigrid shared just how brave her mum was when it came to fighting for equality.

“Mum was a radical feminist from early days,” she recalled.

“She and a couple of friends of hers, particularly one, went into a pub in Brisbane called the Regatta Hotel.”

Back then, women were only allowed in ladies’ lounges, something Merle wasn’t going to accept.

“They went into the pub and they chained themselves, like the suffragettes, to the railing.”

Geraldine Hickey and Sigrid Thornton sit on a jungle bench in red camp uniforms, while Max Balegde, in beige, listens from a low stool on I'm a Celebrity Australia 2025

In her Tok Tokkie, Sigrid explained this wasn’t just about having a beer. It was about equal access to social spaces where major conversations were happening.

“The public bar in those days was a kind of centre for social activity for men. And a lot of the social discourse happened in the bar. And women were excluded from that because they were regarded as the tender sex, the fairer sex.”

The protest made some serious noise, even making international news.

“The police arrived. It was huge. It actually made the international news… It was scandalous.”

When Geraldine asked how people reacted, Sigrid explained: “There were some real naysayers. And in the course of Mum’s career as a feminist, she had death threats and all sorts of things. She didn’t tell us about it at the time… She was incredibly strong.”

Merle’s activism paid off, and Queensland’s laws were soon changed.

Her impact hasn’t been forgotten, with a former Queensland premier promising to erect a statue of Merle at the Regatta Hotel.

“I hope the new government takes this up,” Sigrid said. Same! Give Merle her flowers already!

As Geraldine summed up perfectly: “Cheers to Merle for allowing us to have a drink in the front bar.”

How Sigrid Thornton’s mum inspired her (and that time she got arrested!)

As we learned on the episode of I’m a Celebrity, Sigrid didn’t just grow up hearing about activism from her mum, she lived it. And sometimes, that meant things got a little intense.

“I used to go to women’s liberation meetings at a young age,” she shared.

“Mum and Dad and, Harold, my brother and I were all arrested in a protest against the Vietnam War — the Vietnam War moratorium demonstrations which were happening all over the world. They were just arresting everyone.”

How old was Sigrid when she got thrown into a cell? Just 13 years old! Crazy.

“I was 13, and we were locked up in a cell,” she recalled. Sheesh, that’s one fearless family.

Merle’s legacy lives on through Sigrid, and thanks to I’m a Celebrity 2025, even more of us get to learn about her impact. What an absolute powerhouse!

Are MAFS 2025’s Tim Gromie and Katie Johnston still together?

Katie Johnston and Tim Gromie had one of the most disastrous Married At First Sight (MAFS) weddings of all time.

Mere moments after the duo exchanged vowels, Tim told his producer that he didn’t feel a spark with Katie, and said that his type was someone “short, petite and blonde or brunette.”

Tim broke the news to Katie on the first night of their honeymoon, and they slept in separate beds. Following the episode airing, MAFS 2024 bride Lucinda Light spoke out in support of Katie.

However, have the newlyweds managed to patch up their differences? Read on to find out if Katie and Tim are still together.

Katie and Tim’s pairing

The experts matched Katie and Tim, with Alessandra Rampolla saying, “Tim is the self-described nice guy, and I think that’s exactly what Katie needs.”

On paper, Tim and Katie are quite the match. According to his Channel 9 bio, Tim was looking for a caring partner and wants to find a genuine connection, while Katie was hoping for a decent man who is kind and honest, wants a family and knows how to communicate.

Tim’s dating app behavior spoils MAFS ending

Things didn’t look promising during the second week of MAFS airing, with women that Tim’s allegedly interacted with on dating apps have spilled some dirty details.

One of those people is Alexandria Funnell of That’s Showbiz, Baby podcast. She posted a reel saying that she’s seen Tim on dating apps “so much”.

“As recently as a month ago, he was sending me likes,” Alexandria said in the clip.

Another woman told Instagram account MAFS Uncensored that she saw Tim at a dating event recently and said that he spoke negatively about his time on the show.

“He tells me that he’s on the next season of MAFS and shows me his profile MAFS photo. I start humouring him and ask him if he [is] still with the bride LOL,” the person claimed.

“He says no, he’s not. He’s not remotely interested in her. He says that he wanted a short blonde or brunette; instead, he got a large girl with “tits up to her neck.”

Did Tim and Katie leave MAFS together?

They left MAFS 2025 alright, but definitely not together. Tim showed up unexpectedly just as the first Commitment Ceremony was about to start after never showing up for the move into Skye Suites with Katie.

The pair both wrote Leave, but not before Tim tried to blame Katie checking her emails for the relationship going badly.

The verdict? These two are definitely not together anymore. Honestly, I’d be surprised if they’ll be able to manage a friendship after this.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

“I was already locked in to do the show”: Matty J spills on meeting Laura Byrne before The Bachelor

The Bachelor alum Matt Johnson, known as Matty J, has spilled all the juicy details on how he met his wife Laura Byrne before the show started and what happened behind closed doors!

During the Thursday January 30 episode of I’m a Celebrity Australia, Matty spoke with Bondi Rescue’s Harrison Reid about how he first met Laura in a sauna and not on The Bachelor red carpet.

Harrison asked how Matty and Laura’s relationship began, and Matty explained that it was after he secured The Bachelor, and the show was starting the show in four weeks.

“I was already locked in to do the show. I had already signed the contract,” he explained.

“I was having a sauna at Icebergs. She was already in there in a bikini, looking very good. I didn’t want to be that guy in a sauna who’s like, ‘How ya goin’, but I gave her a smile.”

Matty said he cut his foot somehow before entering the sauna, and Laura kindly pointed it out.

“She was like ‘oh you’ve cut your foot’. I panicked and was like, ‘Yeah, I’ve cut my foot’. She was like, ‘Okay’ and walked out.”

That was the only interaction Matty and Laura had before they met again on The Bachelor.

“So when I saw her on the red carpet, she goes, ‘Do you remember me?’ and I go ‘You’re the girl from the sauna!’,” Matty told Harrison.

“That was awkward”: Matty and Laura hanging out post-Bachelor

Matty went on to explain to Harrison what it was like hanging out with Laura after The Bachelor, describing it as “awkward”.

The first time they were alone after The Bachelor was in a hotel room where Matty had to wait for an hour for Laura to arrive in his suite.

“For three months, we’ve only ever been able to speak to each other in front of all the camera crew and production,” he said.

“We’re sitting there in this hotel room, with all this food and are like ‘what do we do?’.”

Despite the awkward first encounter, we know how it all ends!

Matty and Laura’s family

Matty and Laura have been married for more than two years now, after getting married in 2022. They have two daughters together, Marlie-Mae and Lola Ellis.

During I’m A Celebrity, Matty opened up about the complications Laura faced at the six-month mark of her pregnancy.

“When Laura was pregnant with our second baby, maybe at the six-month mark, we started having some complications,” he explained.

“She was having seizures. We were really lucky with Lola because she’s doing really well now, but during that process, I became aware of the Starlight Foundation and the work they were doing with sick kids,” he added.

We love hearing the behind the scenes about their love story!

MAFS 2025 Episode 4 Recap: Everyone’s getting screwed on their honeymoons

Married At First Sight (MAFS) Episode 4 provided everything we need from this show: hope, tears, roots and arguments. For this MAFS 2025 recap, we’ll focus on the horny (and hellish) honeymoons and the new couples.

The MAFS 2025 honeymoon rollercoaster

Eliot has finally bailed on MAFS 2025 and not a moment too soon.

Eliot Donovan leaves MAFS 2025.
Bye!!! Image: Nine.

Katie and Tim are getting worse by the minute. Tim decided to tell Katie that his type is basically short and not… a redhead. As a result, she has now decided that his lack of “spark” is code for lack of “attraction”.

It’s a fair assumption for her to make, considering the way he is treating her and the entire situation. He did tell her, “You’re good with your looks”, which is like the constipated equivalent of “You’re pretty”, but cooked it when he said he liked “quieter women”.

Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Tim Gromie and Katie Johnson on their MAGS 2025 honeymoon.
Oh yeah? Well we like men who wear beanies that cover their ears!!! Image: Nine.

He can act like a loser all he wants but the toll it’s taking on Katie is getting to me. It’s particularly heartbreaking seeing her put in all the effort, like asking if he likes fishing and photography, and then her feeling like she’s the problem.

Katie Johnson on MAFS 2025.
YOU ARE AMAZING I WILL TALK TO YOU ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY, ANGEL. Image: Nine.

“The common denominator is me,” she said about her failed relationships. I’ll never forgive John Aiken for this.

This specifically. Image: Nine.

Anyway, everyone else is rooting, grabbing boobs and seeing willies. It is unclear if Carina and Paul boinked for the second and third time or the first and second time.

Awhina and Adrian answer family questions

The honesty box — which has been renamed to the “honeymoon box” for good measure — screwed up the heavy petting for Awhina and Adrian when they received a question about family.

He told her that he doesn’t know if he could love her kid the same way he could love his own. It’s not so much the feeling he’s having that I’m criticising as much as it is the delivery. Which is terrible.

He then told her to “smile” which is basically a surefire way to dry up lady parts.

Awhina questions Adrian during their MAFS honeymoon challenge.
It’s sandpaper down here. Image: Nine.

Will our new tributes cross the friend zone?

OK, so Rhi and Jeff are a new couple we met tonight, but it’s not their first time meeting. They acknowledge they know each other straight away, unlike Carina and Paul. The whole wedding is so wonderfully fucking awkward because they are marathon buddies who slept together a few times.

Rhi and Jeff get married on MAFS.
I’VE SEEN YOU NAKED!!! Image: Nine.

I don’t know if they’ll be able to go from friends to lovers but I do know I need Jeff’s skincare routine. I refuse to believe he’ll probably be 40 by final vows.

Ashleigh and Jake are my favourite couple so far. Ashleigh is a bubbly, smiley dance teacher, and Jake is a party-shirt PE teacher. The only downfall is that Ashleigh is a Jules and Cam superfan, something I’ve seen her mention in the trailers while crying. So maybe this doesn’t end the way we want.

Do two positives make a negative or some shit? Image: Nine.

“Would’ve preferred it if she wasn’t on The Bachelor”: MAFS’ Billy dishes on Sierah’s reality TV past

When the Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2025 cast was leaked back in 2024, fans quickly recognised that Sierah Swepstone was on Jimmy Nicholson‘s season of The Bachelor, but did her groom Billy Belcher make the connection?

Turns out he was none the wiser! However, Billy has since been caught up on Sierah’s reality TV past. Read on to find out what he had to say about it.

Sierah and Billy at their MAFS wedding. Image: Nine.

Billy didn’t recognise Sierah at the MAFS altar

When Billy spotted Sierah at the end of the MAFS aisle, he didn’t recognise her from her time on The Bachelor.

For the uninitiated, Sierah’s time on the show was certainly not a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it night one exit. She made it to the final four and was eliminated just before the final rose ceremony.

Sierah was a hit with viewers, thanks to her quirky antics— in one episode, she dressed up as a phoenix, but said she should have come as a koala because she’d “had chlamydia”.

However, Billy told Daily Mail Australia that he didn’t actually know about his wife’s time on the show until the cast leaked and articles reported on it. The publication leaked Sierah’s identity almost immediately after she began filming her backstory for the show.

“I did know she was on The Bachelor when it got leaked; that was plastered all over her leak,” he told the publication.

Billy said that after the articles emerged, he and Sierah spoke about her time on the show.

“Me and Sierah had a chat, she obviously told me about it,” Billy said.

“So it looks like I was in competition with, I think it was Jimmy, for a little bit,” he joked. “Let’s hope I’m into tall horny bogans.”

Sierah described herself as a tall, horny bogan in one of The Bachelor episodes.

Billy reveals why he wishes Sierah wasn’t on The Bachelor

In the same interview, Billy said that he was determined to judge Sierah on what he saw in person, rather than her past.

“I don’t think you can judge somebody on a previous experience. I’m not someone that does that,” he said.

However, he revealed that Sarah’s time on the popular reality show has attracted a lot of attention to their relationship.

“But I would’ve preferred it if she wasn’t on The Bachelor before because it brings less heat.”

The charming English man said that he hadn’t watched her season, even after finding out that she was on The Bachelor.

“I haven’t watched the show, so I can’t judge her on that at all,” he said.

“It didn’t really matter too much. We’ll just have to see how it all unfolds as our journey goes on.”

Fingers crossed that it’s all love and red roses for Sierah and Billy this time around.

MAFS 2025: Take a peep at Eliot Donovan’s new bride and Lauren Hall’s new groom

We’re not even through the first week of Married At First Sight 2025 (MAFS), and it’s already pretty evident that there’s a (TV) divorce on the cards between Eliot Donovan and Lauren Hall.

While Eliot and Lauren’s wedding went relatively well, the couple butted heads during their honeymoon, with Eliot claiming that Lauren was too “superficial” for him because she had luxury luggage. On the second day of the honeymoon, Eliot packed his (non-designer) bags and left, and it didn’t look like he was coming back.

So, is it the end of the road for Lauren and Eliot on MAFS? Apparently not, but read on at your own risk because there are spoilers galore.

MAFS’ Eliot Donavan’s new wife

MAFS’ Eliot made it clear that he was upset that he was paired with someone older than him — Lauren is 37 and he is 35. The business owner repeatedly told producers that he was hoping to be paired with someone in their 20s.

Luckily for Eliot, leaked photos of his new bride appear to show that his wish was granted. Well, almost.

As reported by Daily Mail Australia, Eliot’s new bride will be 30-year-old intruder and Miss Universe finalist Veronica Cloherty.

Veronica has been in a selection of short films, including Streets of Colour in 2023, and was a Miss Universe Australia National Finalist in 2016 and 2019.

However, it won’t necessarily be a happy ending for Eliot, as sources have told the publication that she’s a “high-maintenance diva” who’s using the show to advance her career.

MAFS’ Lauren Hall’s new husband

Lauren will also get a second chance at love! According to Daily Mail Australia, she will be marrying intruder Clint Rice.

Clint is a professional golfer who’s recently ended a long-term relationship. A source told the publication that he is “super chill and down to earth”.

Could he be end game for Lauren? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MAFS 2025 Episode 3 Recap: So many twins, so little screentime

Welcome to another Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 recap. For Episode 3, we met a shitload of twins and got back on the rollercoaster that is Eliot and Lauren‘s relationship. Let’s recap, shall we?

Awhina, Adrian and 127 other twins enter MAFS

The MAFS 2025 experts have paired one twin with another twin. They are not related. They are both one half of a twin… set? The bride has a twin sister, and the groom has a twin brother. And just to make things even more confusing, the groom also has twin sisters.

Awhina and her twin sister on MAFS 2025. Read the recap here.
Twins!!! Image: Nine.

More twins!!! Image: Nine.

I’m just grateful they have different hairstyles to keep my head from falling off.

Anyway, Awhina (who looks like a past MAFS bride whose name I can’t remember) hopes she gets paired with someone who understands her twin relationship.

Adrian waits at the altar on MAFS 2025.
I am a twin and my sister is a twin and my other sister is a twin and so’s my brother. Image: Nine.

Great! Adrian (was that his name?) will be perfect for her. Except he won’t be because he is too… hot?

Awhina literally gets pissed off by his attractiveness because other people will think he’s hot too. I am not sure I understand this, but go off, sis.

Awhina and Adrian get married on MAFS 2025.
I specifically asked for a mid. Image: Nine.

But that’s nothing compared to the joke he made during vows about having a child before quickly clarifying that it’s the four-legged kind.

Considering Awhina is a mum of the human kind, this upsets her greatly.

But that upset is misdirected because Awhina’s TWIN sister, to whom she is SO close, just declared that she doesn’t know whether or not her TWIN sister to whom she is SO close is a mother or not.

Just lie or tell the truth, brunette Awhina. Anything’s better than pretending you don’t know if you have a niece or nephew.

This situation only gets worse when the mum and stepdad let the cat out of the bag — or two-legged child — with their wedding speech, talking about what a great mum blonde Awhina is.

Awhina and Adrian recap the day at their wedding reception on MAFS 2025.
In other news, terrible flower arrangement. Image: Nine.

If Adrian didn’t consider Awhina interrupting her own parents as odd — she literally called a “time out” during the speech — then the fact that she has a two-legged child at home definitely did the job. “It’s not ideal,” he reckons.

I don’t know about Adrian, but when I was single around his age, I was fully aware that a potential partner might have children. You’re not 18; open your eyes.

Anyway, I’m sure this will be their entire storyline like some kind of I Have A Child 2.0.

Billy is a self-proclaimed mummy’s boy

Billy Belcher waits for his new wife Sierah Swepstone.
That celebrant’s been happier. Image: Nine.

Sierah — who was on The Bachelor as the show was going to shit — has never been in love and the only other interesting thing I noted is that she has a cat name Pennifer Anniston.

Billy proposes to Sierah at their MAFS 2025 wedding. Read the recap here.
While you’re down there. Image: Nine.

She also said “bestie” a lot which kind of shat me up the wall but Baby Reindeer (Billy) was into it, and I guess that’s all that matters.

They seem to like each other so, uh, fingers crossed? They’ll make it to final vows and be broken up by the time the show’s over. Probably.

Eliot forgets how old he is

Eliot with one l and one t tells Lauren she would be with someone who’s in their 40s. Lauren tells Eliot he should be with someone “young and dumb” in her 20s.

Reminder: He is 35. She is 37.

You’re old enough to be my grandma. Image: Nine.

I’m sure this entire thing will end terribly for them. And I’m not just talking about their relationship. Guess we’ll find out in the next MAFS 2025 recap!

Lucinda Light rallies behind MAFS 2025 bride Katie: “She deserves so much more”

Married At First Sight (MAFS) alum Lucinda Light has rallied behind 2025 bride Katie Johnstone following her train wreck of a marriage to Tim Gromie.

Katie voiced her insecurities during the January 28 episode and told producers that she was “definitely scared of being rejected.”

Lo and behold, Katie was paired up with Tim, who—after the duo had walked down the aisle—told producers that Katie wasn’t his type and clarified that his type was someone “short, petite and blonde or brunette”.

Katie was understandably devastated when Tim told her that he didn’t feel a spark on their wedding night, and Lucinda sympathised with her.

What did Lucinda Light say about MAFS’ Katie?

Shortly after Katie and Tim’s wedding aired, Lucinda took to Instagram to support the 2025 bride.

“How divine is the radiant Katie?” Lucinda penned.

“I’m really feeling for her and the journey she’s on, it’s rough. This experiment demands immense courage and vulnerability, and last night, my heart shattered for her. She deserves so much more! What a queen!”

Lucinda went on to make an exciting announcement about collaborating with Katie.

“Brisbane friends, if you’re coming to my show this Saturday night, you’re in for a special treat—Katie will be there, along with other MAFS friends. Let’s come together as a community and wrap this exquisite human in love and support. I want her to truly feel us standing behind her in solidarity.”

Lucinda is referring to her live show, An Evening with Lucinda Light. The event sees Lucinda take to a stage in front of fans and speak about her personal refelctions and own experiences.

Fans react to Katie’s appearance at Lucinda’s show

Lucinda’s followers quickly flooded the comments section with supportive messages for Katie and to share their excitement about the collaboration.

“Last night I so wished you were on this series to support Katie, it was so hard to watch, but there are big and wonderful things waiting for her, she did not deserve what she got!” One person wrote.

“Look after her, Lucinda. She’s with the right girl to build her up. We’re all cheering for you Katie,” another person commented.

Lucinda and Katie are certainly an iconic duo.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MAFS 2025’s Adrian Araouzou’s domestic violence acquittal has resurfaced

TRIGGER WARNING: This article about MAFS’ Adrian Araouzou contains discussions and references to domestic violence.

Married At First Sight 2025 (MAFS) groom Adrian Araouzou has found himself at the centre of controversy after past legal issues have resurfaced.

According to a report by The Australian, Adrian was previously acquitted of domestic violence charges against his former partner.

The incident in question saw the 31-year-old facing multiple charges, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, domestic violence common assault, and resisting police charges back in 2020. He appeared in court over the charges and was acquitted on all counts.

According to the news outlet, court documents stated that police were called to the house that Adrian shared with her partner at the time after a neighbour heard screams.

Police said in the report that Officers found a “hysterical and barely consolable” woman naked in the bathroom, with her “head in her hands and blood seeping through.”

“Due to the actions of the defendant, police were required to restrain (him) using weaponless control,” police said.

A few days after the incident, the woman signed a statement saying that the injuries arose from a seizure.

MAFS’ Adrian speaks out about the domestic violence charges

Adrian has spoken publicly about the charges he was acquitted of.

“Any suggestion of physical assault is categorically denied,” the reality star told The Australian through a lawyer.

“I had my day in court, I was found not guilty and the application for an AVO was dismissed. Any allegation otherwise is completely baseless and highly defamatory.”

Daily Mail reported that Endemol and Nine launched an internal investigation and found Araouzou had not engaged in any wrong doing.

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MAFS 2025 Episode 2 Recap: Is Tim actually nice? I’m not so sure

After meeting our first two Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 couples in Episode 1, we’re back! Why do I feel like it’s all downhill from here? Let’s recap!

MAFS 2025 delivers the torture early

Not to confuse shows, but the new MAFS 2025 couple, Katie and Tim, is good on paper. Individually and together. A purpose-driven angel and a P.E. teacher who refers to himself as “nice”? Great!!

Tim Gromie and Katie Johnson have been paired together for the experiment.
Narrator: Things were not great. Image: Nine.

Let’s meet Katie first. She wears gigantic necklaces straight from the zoo. She also had a horrible ex who once told her to lose weight. While she was in her bikini and in a pool.

She’s excited to wear a REAL wedding dress for a REAL man with REAL people in attendance.

Katie is about to get married on MAFS 2025.
Actual real-life clothing! Image: Nine.

Literally 0.3 seconds later she starts getting upset because she realises the whole wedding part is fake.

It’s actually very sad, though, because she feels like she skipped the falling-in-love part that comes before a wedding and that she had to “trap a stranger into it”. While I’m glad people are actually acknowledging that these sham weddings take away from the real wedding they’ll have one day, I’m sad she feels this way. She seems like a catch.

Katie Johnson tries on her wedding dress.
Hello darkness my old friend. Image: Nine.

Tim? Tim’s a PE teacher and quite charismatic, or as Kate would say, “tranquil.” Anyway, upon meeting Tim, she tells him that she won’t be doing OnlyFans, and it’s the greatest nod to what a joke this show is that I ever saw.

Katie Johnson marries Tim Gromie.
Unless it’s a collab! Image: Nine.

Tim tells Katie he’s a nice guy and then proceeds to show the producer otherwise.

He said that he wanted someone short, petite, blonde, or brunette—literally, every hair colour that Katie is not. The producer reminds Tim that judging someone based on five minutes is a mean thing to do.

Tim Gromie on MAFS 2025 in Episode 2.
Oh it’s not nice to write someone off straight away???? Image: Nine.

Are we not seeing how ironic it is that people see him as just the “nice guy” but then he says “Katie’s lovely but…”.

Katie starts feeling insecure, and Tim didn’t even kiss her on the cheek after her cake knife became dirty. Like I understand consent, don’t get me wrong, but I’ll only accept that if he didn’t kiss several other cheeks this very same day.

He then tells Katie that it was because of how overwhelming the day is and then Katie assumes she’s been overreacting and spiralling. I hate how this is going to end for her. Which is probably soon.

The Big Friendly Giant and the Small Friendly Greek

Is it just me, or do we think that producers paired the shortest and tallest participants together for shits and gigs? Let me tell you, there is nothing funny about this projected back pain.

Jamie and Dave are matched for MAFS 2025.
Obsessed already. Image: Nine.

Dave’s huge, and Jamie has a huge personality. Jamie also claps like a seal when she realises her new husband has even his inner ear tattooed. She then proves herself to be a Defqon. 1 attendee by mentioning raves 32 times during their wedding photoshoot.

These two are a vibe, and I’m already into whatever love story they’re about to give birth to. Mostly, I’m just excited that she got MAFS 2025 expert John Aiken to say, “Core is important”.

“She was having seizures”: I’m a Celebrity 2025’s Matty J on Laura Byrne’s challenging pregnancy

I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025 contestant Matt Johnson (Matty J) has opened up about his wife Laura Byrne‘s difficult pregnancy.

While talking about the charities they’d picked to compete for on I’m a Celebrity Australia, Matty shared that Laura faced severe complications while carrying their second child, Lola.

Matty said that the challenging experience motivated him to volunteer for the organization.

“After that, I started volunteering at the children’s hospital in Sydney, and the starlights do such amazing work, just to make that environment in a hospital — which isn’t where a child should be — but making it a little more enjoyable, giving them a bit more fun,” he said.

What are the other I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025 contestant’s charities?

Each contestant on I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025 picked a charity prior to heading into the South African jungle. Whoever is crowned king or queen of the jungle will receive $100,000 for their chosen charity.

The celebrities have chosen a range of well-deserving organisations, including Dementia Australia, Minus 18, The Butterfly Foundation and the Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia.

I’m a Celebrity Australia 2024 winner Skye Wheatley chose Bully Zero and won $100,000 for them.

During a post-win interview with Chattr, Skye said that even when she had to undertake gruelling challenges like the Viper Room, knowing she could win money for her charity helped her stay strong..

“I went through absolute trauma,” she said. “Everything triggered me, but I just had to be strong for my boys, myself, and my charity, so that was all playing on my mind.

“Every time I went through something traumatic, I was just like ‘My boys. Myself. My charity.’ I was like, I have to be strong for all of these three reasons, and that was enough to keep me going.”

You can find out more about the I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025 contestant’s charities here.

The Voice Australia 2025 coaches: A Spice Girl is joining the panel

The Voice Australia 2025 panel will be blessed with a little girl power in the upcoming season with the news that Mel C (Millennials will know her best as Sporty Spice) is a coach.

Yep, the full panel of coaches has been announced, and two new additions to the roster have been made.

Read on to find out who will be seated in the big red chairs on The Voice Australia 2025.

Meet the Voice 2025 coaches

Mel C

Mel C, full name Melanie Chisholm (who knew?), is joining The Voice Australia for the first time ever. However, while it’s her first time on the Australian iteration, Mel has some experience with the franchise. She was a coach on the British version of The Voice Kids back in 2021.

Mel said she’s “incredibly excited” about the new gig.

“I have always cherished my trips down under over the years, so to be there with such a super lineup of coaches in one of my favourite countries is a real honour,” she said in a press release.

“Also, very happy to be missing some of the British winter! Very much looking forward to unearthing some brilliant talent to join Team Melanie.”

Kate Miller-Heidke

Kate Miller-Heidke made her debut on The Voice Australia in 2024, and she’s be returning again this year.

“I’m absolutely stoked to be coming back to The Singing Olympics, aka The Voice, this year,” the multi-platinum singer said.

“I can’t wait to hear all the new voices. Singing is an endlessly fascinating art form with the mystical power of connecting people. I’m excited to meet the new coaches, all of whom are incredible artists, and to uncover some brand-new artists to join Team Kate. Let’s go!”

Ronan Keating

While Ronan Keating hasn’t been a The Voice judge in recent years, he’s somewhat of a veteran.

The When You Say Nothing At All singer coached aspiring singers on the series in 2016 alongside the iconic lineup of Jessie JDelta Goodrem and The Madden Brothers. He coached Tash Lockart, who came in third place. You can see the full list of The Voice Australia winners here.

“I’ve had a love affair with Australia since I first set foot on Aussie shores nearly three decades ago, so I can’t wait to get back to the country where I also met and fell in love with my wife,” the British singer said of his return.

“A country that I now have family and feel right at home in. To be back in the big red chair on The Voice Australia in 2025 is going to be really special, especially alongside Melanie C, Kate and Richard.”

Richard Marx

American singer-songwriter Richard Marx is a brand spanking new addition the the panel, and he’s best known for his 1984 chart topper What About Me?

“I’m really looking forward to being a coach on this new season of The Voice for a number of reasons. Primarily, I’m excited to have the opportunity to meet and nurture some truly talented singers,” Richard said of the gig.

“But I’m also just very happy to be coming to stay in Australia for an extended time. My love affair with Oz began in 1977 when I was 13 and my parents brought me with them for a month-long trip. After many more visits on tour playing to thousands and thousands of Aussie fans, it’s become a home away from home.”

The Voice Australia will air on Channel 7 and 7Plus in 2025.

MAFS star Jessika Power tears up over murdered ex Sam Abdulrahim

Jessika Power, best known for appearing on Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2019, has spoken for the first time since the death of her ex-boyfriend, Sam “The Punisher” Abdulrahim, a notorious gangland figure in Melbourne’s underworld.

Sam was gunned down in a carpark outside the Quest Hotel in Preston on Tuesday, 28 January, around 10am. The Mongol bikie turned boxer had survived multiple assassination attempts before his life was cut short.

Here’s what Jessika had to say about it all.

“It’s been really hard to hear”

Speaking to Daily Mail, Jessika shed tears as she spoke about Sam’s death.

“It’s been really, really hard to hear,” she told the news outlet.

Though Jessika and Sam had split up back in 2019, Jessika shared that Sam had been there for her long after their breakup, continuing to support her right up until a few months ago.

“We ended on really good terms,” she said. “He’s always been supportive to me if I needed him.”

Jessika also expressed her sympathies for Sam’s wife and child.

“She’s going to grow up without a dad, and it’s such a toxic world to be in that underworld thing.

“It makes my head rattle because there are all these people are out there having these wars, but basically you’re assassinating someone’s father, brother or kid,” she continued.

Despite Sam’s connections to murders and gang-related crimes, which have made him one of the more notorious figures in Melbourne’s underworld, Jessika still felt compelled to defend his character.

“Everybody looks at these bikies and Mongols as bad people, but he was a family man, he was dedicated to his family,” she said.

“He was protective of his family and he was certainly protective of me when we were together,” she continued.

“He was a dad, he was a husband, he’s someone’s son and he’s just a really good guy,” she added.

Jessika also revealed that her brother, Rhyce Power, was “devastated” by the news of Sam’s death.

“He’s been a good friend to my brother for years as well,” Jessika said, adding, “This is just so fucking sad.”

Jessika and Sam’s short-lived romance

Jessika and Sam began their relationship after he was released from prison in 2019, following his three-year jail sentence for causing the death of 88-year-old Muriel Hulett in a high-speed car crash.

Sam, behind the wheel of a Ferrari Spider, lost control while driving at 110 kilometers per hour on the wrong side of the road in a 60 kilometers per hour zone. Muriel died eight days later from injuries sustained in the collision.

The pair met through mutual friends, but Sam’s connection to the gangland underworld was ultimately one of the reasons the MAFS star decided to end things.

“I just feel like that underworld thing at the minute in Melbourne and Sydney is just getting out of hand,” Jessika explained to the Daily Mail.

“It was part of the reason why I ended up leaving because I just didn’t want to be around that.”

Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
