Married at First Sight Australia 2023 groom Jesse Burford is emotional and, well, brutally honest.
In fact, before the tenth season premiered on January 30, the 30-year-old marriage celebrant had already copped some serious heat after Nine released a promo of Jesse and his “list” of “turn-offs”.
“Addicted to their phone. Motivational quotes. Vanilla, basic, boring. Don’t listen. LISTEN!! Don’t even let you speak. Star sign chicks,” he said.
“Drama queens. Chicks who pout. Any girl who starts a sentence with ‘honey’, ‘sweetie’, ‘Oh, my God. Babe!’. Next, no, thank you. Mirror selfies.”
Even though his list of demands is long, more shockingly, all Jesse “really wants “is a chance to be loved” and honey, sweetie, darling. You ain’t making it easy!
Breaking down at his faux marriage ceremony, he says: “I don’t know where love has been hiding all these years, and I don’t know what more I can do to make my light any easier.”

Even though Jesse was in a heavy metal band, his day job sees him marry loved-up couples as a marriage celebrant.
The Perth local — whose style aesthetic is that of a rock star — has officiated over 500 weddings; however, he feels that the constant level of love and commitment leaves him wanting that for himself.
According to his official Nine bio, Jesse has had two serious relationships which grew from an instant connection, so his expectations of finding that spark again are high.
As we’ve already seen, the MAFS groom is VERY fussy when it comes to choosing partners, meaning he gets “the ick” pretty quickly; however, he is hoping to take the plunge in the experiment in the hope that love can flourish regardless.
