Producer fears women have been “turned off” applying for FWAW Australia for one reason

“Let’s hope they haven’t broken the show”

Fans of Farmer Wants a Wife Australia can’t seem to get enough of the drama, however, a former producer fears the “in-fighting” on the show is what’s deterring women from applying for future seasons.

In FWAW’s early days, viewers fell in love with the hit dating series’ wholesome nature as they watched unlucky-in-love farmers finally get their happily-ever-afters.

While the uplifting series has spawned nine marriages and 21 kids over its 13 seasons, it got muddied somewhere along the way with a whole lotta drama. And, according to an ex-producer, this might just be Farmer Wants a Wife’s downfall.

Farmer Wants a Wife was widely popular because it was less dramatic and I know for a fact we used to be more focused on finding these farmers an actual wife,” the producer told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“I fear the algorithm is going to be out wack with attracting the right sort of woman who have most likely been turned off the idea of applying.”

Ex-Farmer Wants a Wife producer thinks influencer ‘trends’ affect show’s ‘longevity’

The anonymous producer also confessed that they believe FWAW has fallen into the trap of casting wannabe influencers á la Married at First Sight Australia.

“We know that these reality-shows have a way of mimicking trends. MAFS is a spiral of attracting influencers and that is a real problem for their longevity,” they told the outlet.

Adding that FWAW “should have stayed in its lane” and only cast gals who were genuinely on the hunt for Mr Right, the source said they hope the next season goes back to its roots.

“Other shows are already doing that in-fighting and conflict,” the producer said. “Here’s hoping they go for genuine love stories this time around. As I fear the show won’t survive another series like the last.

“Let’s hope they haven’t broken the show.”

Casting is already underway for Farmer Wants a Wife 2025

While it may still seem we’re still knee-deep in drama from FWAW 2024, word on the street is that Channel Seven is already on the hunt for its next crop of farmers.

As reported in May, the network has put the call out for “single farmers” and potential suitors hoping to find a bae on Farmer Wants a Wife 2025, which will once again be hosted by Sam Armytage.

Fingers crossed the next season has a better success rate!
