Six clear signs that MAFS' Alissa was never into David

Explosive unseen footage has us questioning if these two were ever OK.

You’ve got to hand it to MAFS: After The Dinner Party, they really come through with the tea. Last night, the show dropped some unseen pieces of footage: one in which Alissa Fay was yelling at David Momoh and another of her putting David down for lacking ambition… and “assets.”

Now that we’re seeing a fuller picture of Alissa and David’s seemingly picture-perfect relationship, we think it’s time to look back at all the signs that Alissa was never into David in the first place. And honestly… the writing was on the wall!

1. Alissa declaring she functions at a “higher frequency” than David

An early sign of trouble in paradise was Alissa saying at a Commitment Ceremony that there are some things David can’t provide. “I function at a higher frequency,” she memorably blurted out to the experts. She adds that she’s “missing that stimulation, that higher frequency that I would normally get from my relationships, to make me happy.”

It’s unclear what Alissa was trying to say about David here, but it seemed to be something to do with David, as he himself says, being “calm” and “not reactive” in the way that Alissa’s exes may have been.

2. Alissa not taking David’s concerns seriously

In a subsequent episode of the show, David attempted to speak to Alissa about her “high frequency” comments to which Alissa didn’t seem to take his comments seriously, stating, “you’re in a foul mood today!”

None of this seemed like a normal way to respond to the feelings of someone you care about.

3. Brook accusing Alissa and David of having a fake relationship

We know she’s not the best source, but former bride Brook Crompton accused Alissa and David of having a “fake showmance” more than once — both at Red Flags and Green Flags event during Revelations Week and at that Dinner Party when Brook once again took aim at the couple’s “fake” relationship.

Of course, most of what Brook said was used to make viewers hate her and have sympathy for Alissa and David. But what if there had been some truth to Brook’s claims after all?

4. Insider tells Chattr Alissa wasn’t looking for love on MAFS

After the season had wrapped filming, an insider told Chattr that Alissa never had any real intention of finding love on MAFS.

“She was only there for her influential career; she wasn’t genuine,” they said.

The source added that, unlike Alissa, David was genuinely there to find a partner, which made the situation all the more brutal for him.

“Alissa’s groom was gutted, because he was there for the right reasons,” the source adds. “Everyone will understand when they watch MAFS, because it was very obvious what she was there for.”

5. This fight on the way to MAFS’ second last dinner party

Alissa and David clashed in the car on the way to last night’s Dinner Party. Alissa can be heard saying “I’m trying to understand you, I don’t understand you,” and “you’re confusing the f**k out of me.”

She is also heard ridiculing David’s concerns, mockingly quoting him saying, “I’m at my limit” and “I need space”. For context: prior to the Dinner Party, David told Alissa he needed some space after feeling that Alissa was not fully on board with the relationship at Homestays Week.

6. Alissa implying that David’s not a great communicator

In an interview with Chattr, Alissa indicated that the couple’s relationship was heading for the dire straits. She said this will likely confuse viewers because many “big, key elements” of their relationship didn’t make the edit.

Alissa also implies in the interview that she’s a better communicator than David. “It won’t make sense to the viewers because there have been storylines missed, big key elements to our relationship,” she added.

“I’ve always been very open about how I’m feeling, and I feel like there could have been times where we could have had better conversations, or maybe [David] could have spoken up a little bit more, because I’m very open with my communication and what I need and what I want. But you know, no one’s f**king perfect,” she explained.

Well, it’s fair to say it’s not looking good for what once seemed like a very chill, compatible couple. We’ll see how things pan out over the next few episodes.

MAFS 2026 premieres on Sunday – Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
