The Golden Bachelor Australia has been a hit, with 20 ladies ranging in ages from 51 to 66 vying for widower Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden’s heart. The new spin has injected new life into the tired format, and viewers have been eating it up. So, will there be a Golden Bachelor Australia Season 2, or could we see a fan-favourite contestant, such as Sunny Long, step into the leading role of The Golden Bachelorette Australia?
Thanks to a post shared by an employee of the production company behind The Golden Bachelor Australia, we have the answer. Casting producer Sophie Roberts, who has worked on shows such as Big Brother Australia, Australian Survivor and Hunted Australia, has hinted that The Golden Bachelor Australia is coming back for Season 2.
She shared a casting post looking for new single contestants looking for love. “Fabulous single women — we want you! Are you 48 or over, single, and ready to find your forever love? We’re looking for confident, vibrant Australian women to join The Golden Bachelor and share an unforgettable journey of romance and connection. If you know someone amazing or if that’s YOU, I want to hear from you,” Sophie wrote.
“This is your chance to celebrate love, life and new beginnings in style. Don’t wait, contact me and make this your golden moment!”
The graphic she shared confirms that The Golden Bachelor is currently casting for Season 2, and it looks like they don’t have their leading man yet. “Men and women 50+ looking for love. To apply or nominate someone you think deserves to find love, go to: goldenbachelorcasting.com.au. Open to residents Australia-wide,” the poster reads.

Sunny’s daughter, Chloe, tells Chattr that she would be open to seeing her mum back on the show again. “If [the show is coming back] I would prefer her to be the Golden Bachelorette! That would be so fun to watch,” she says.
How do you apply for The Golden Bachelor Australia Season 2?
The production company behind The Golden Bachelor Australia currently has casting applications open on their website, and you can either apply or nominate somebody you believe would be perfect for reality TV. Should we all nominate Sunny to keep her on our screens?
Potential applicants are required to answer a plethora of questions about their past relationships, dating and relationships, family and friends, life, what they want in a future partner, and must also list their height, sexual orientation and cultural background. Casting producers also ask for recent photos so they can see what you look like.
There’s also a chance to upload a video explaining why you are perfect for The Golden Bachelor Australia, so if you’re wanting to get on reality TV, this is your chance!
