The Block 2026 winner might still be under wraps, but a very specific pattern from previous seasons has fans wondering if the champion has already been revealed.
With auction day happening around the same time the finale airs, Nine is usually pretty good at keeping the final result secret.
But according to a new report from Woman’s Day, there’s one particular prize that could give us a clue about which team is destined to walk away with the big cheque.
And, uh, it’s looking VERY interesting for Courtney and Sev.
Has The Block 2026 winner leaked?
Every few seasons, The Block contestants have the chance to win an additional kitchen package alongside their room-week victory.
This year, the prize supplied by E&S is valued at a whopping $250,000.
Obviously, scoring a quarter of a million dollars’ worth of kitchen appliances and goodies is already a pretty massive win.
But there’s another reason fans are keeping a close eye on who takes it out.
As Woman’s Day pointed out, the team that has won the special kitchen package in the past three seasons where it was awarded has also gone on to win the entire season.
Yep. It’s happened three times in a row.
Every team that won it went on to win The Block
Back in 2020, Jimmy and Tam picked up the coveted kitchen package before ultimately winning The Block and a staggering $1,066,000 at auction.
Two years later, in 2022, Omar and Oz followed the exact same path.
After winning the kitchen package, the pair went on to take out the season with a record-breaking $1,686,666.66 in prize money.
Then came Britt and Taz in 2025.
The pair won the kitchen package during Week Two and eventually became the season’s winners, walking away with $520,000.
So while the prize obviously isn’t officially some kind of The Block crystal ball, the three-for-three record is pretty damn hard to ignore.
Courtney and Sev won the 2026 kitchen package
Which brings us to Courtney and Sev.
The House 4 contestants were the ones who secured the $250,000 E&S kitchen package during Week Two of the 2026 season.
As Woman’s Day noted, the pair were well aware of the history surrounding the prize.
Other contestants reportedly acknowledged the pattern during the competition, with the possibility of continuing the streak giving them even more reason to fight for the win.
Now, Courtney and Sev have another statistic working in their favour.
Courtney and Sev are currently leading The Block 2026 leaderboard
After nine weeks of renovating, Courtney and Sev aren’t just sitting pretty because of that kitchen-package curse — they’re also currently leading the judges’ scores.
The pair have accumulated 232.5 points out of a possible 270.
Adam and Jolene aren’t far behind, sitting on 223 points, while Lisa and Rosco have 217.5.
Chantel and Wyatt currently have 200.5, with Rick and Tayla at the bottom of the leaderboard on 193 points.
Here’s how the scores stack up:
Courtney and Sev: 232.5
Adam and Jolene: 223
Lisa and Rosco: 217.5
Chantel and Wyatt: 200.5
Rick and Tayla: 193
Of course, none of this means Courtney and Sev are guaranteed to win.
The Block has a habit of throwing a few curveballs at contestants before auction day, and the judges’ scores don’t determine who ultimately walks away with the biggest auction result.
Still, when you combine the three-season kitchen-package winning streak with Courtney and Sev’s current position at the top of the leaderboard, it certainly makes for an intriguing theory.
We might have to wait until auction day to find out, but right now, Courtney and Sev are looking like the team to beat.
The Block 2027 airs Sunday — Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
