We’ve yet to meet the cast of The Block 2026, but a rumour spread on social media claims former The Bachelor star Bec Cvilikas will be renovating a house alongside her fiancé Kody Griggs. After the reality contestant posted a video of her recently built home, a friend asked if she’d be joining The Block. “Maybe?! Thanks chicky,” Bec replied, and the whisper has since grown.
Fans on Reddit are furious, with the general consensus being that viewers want the show to stick to regular everyday Aussies, rather than digging into the pool of past reality TV contestants. Seeing as how much press the show got from having MAFS’ Dave Hand appearing on The Block 2025, it’s obvious why casting producers could be tempted to pick semi-famous stars.
One fan claimed the show is chasing drama, saying Aussie shows are following in America’s footsteps. “That’s starting to sound like all the American versions of these shows. Fill the contestants with reality TV people and that’s what they spend all their time banging on about. This is all for drama. Check out the different versions of The Traitors if you don’t know what I mean,” they wrote.
“Oh no! Don’t know of her but don’t want someone like that as a contestant. Give us normal everyday people please,” another added.
“How about some older contestants or Aussie battlers? That would be way more interesting to watch,” a third said.
“Sounds terrible and undeserving,” another chimed in.
“The Block has been a MAFS collab for the last three or four seasons. They probably don’t feel the need to disguise that fact any more. Soon The Block will become a MAFS graduation ceremony. If couples stay together for 12 months, they become contestants on The Block,” a fan theorised.

Who is Bec Cvilikas?
Bec Cvilikas starred on The Bachelor Australia in 2020 as an intruder for Locky Gilbert. She made it to the top four, but was dumped in favour of runner-up Bella Varelis and winner Irena Srbinovska.
She has continued growing her presence in the public eye, with almost 20,000 followers on TikTok and over 33,000 followers on Instagram.
She is represented by talent agency The Talent Society, and has worked with brands such as Charlotte Tilbury, Lee Denim and GHD.
Bec recently built a home with her partner Kody, and has been documenting her interior design journey on Instagram. Sounds like she’s preparing for The Block, but we’ll have to wait and see if the influencer is included in the cast announcement.
