The new Bachelorette, starring Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul, which was scheduled to premiere on March 22, has been cancelled after a video of a domestic incident from 2023 leaked.

The video shows Taylor kicking her now ex, Dakota Mortensen, and throwing chairs while her young daughter was present. “Your daughter just got hit in the head by a metal chair!” Dakota tells her in the clip.

Taylor and Dakota were also involved in a separate domestic in late February. The Draper Police Department in Utah told People magazine that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” regarding Paul and Mortensen and that “allegations have been made in both directions.”

However, ABC has cited the video as the reason for axing Taylor’s The Bachelorette season.

“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” a Disney Entertainment Television spokesperson said in a statement.

Will Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette air at a later date?

There’s no information available about whether Taylor’s season will be shelved for a later date. However, multiple sources have reported that big brands have severed ties with the network since news of Taylor’s domestic incident aired, making a later airing date unlikely.

Cinnabon announced that it had ended its partnership with both Mormon Wives and The Bachelorette earlier this week.

“Cinnabon has made the decision to terminate its collaboration with The Bachelorette and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Recent developments and allegations surrounding the lead cast member led us to reassess this collaboration as it no longer aligns with our brand values,” a spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly.
