Amy Dickson was the only contestant on Stranded on Honeymoon Island to be matched twice — but did her second shot at love with Haydn Slater pay off?
The series kicked off with a fast-paced round of speed dating, where they met potential matches and ranked their top picks. We now know that Amy picked Haydn as her number one but was instead matched with Mike Dawes. The two were shipped off to a remote island in Fiji to see if they could make their relationship work.
Mike and Amy butted heads from the start, but managed to make amends and grew a strong friendship. However, during Episode 9 Mike was given a choice; he could pull a flare which would signal the end of his time in the experiment, but a new match would be bought in for Amy. Mike made the choice to launch the flare because he knew his relationship with Amy wouldn’t progress romantically.
“I [thought I] might as well just give her what she wants, so that at least one of us can find something out of this. It was really only for her,” Mike told Chattr of his decision.
“I was a bit sad,” he continued. “The whole purpose was to look for love, and if one of us gets the opportunity to give the other one [that], I would have hoped, if it were vice versa, she would have done the same thing.
After he left, Haydn was shipped to Amy’s island — much to her delight — and the two hit it off immediately, but are they still together?

Where do Stranded on Honeymoon Island’s Haydn and Amy stand now?
Although Haydn and Amy seemed like a strong couple during their brief time on Stranded on Honeymoon Island, an insider told us that their relationship was over as soon as the cameras stopped rolling.
“Immediately after the show, Amy just ditched Haydn. They never saw each other after the show,” the source told us.
The source added that Emily and Haydn have a romantic history.
“Haydn and Emily matched on Hinge before the show, and she told Tom that they slept together, which wasn’t true,” the source claimed.
The insider went on to say that Amy and Haydn weren’t the only couple to split post-show.
“Obviously, none of them are together anymore,” they told us.
Ooft, at this rate, even MasterChef Australia has a better track record for romance.
Watch the Stranded on Honeymoon Island finale from 8:30pm on July 29 on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
