Stranded On Honeymoon Island may not be raking in the same views as juggernaut shows like Married At First Sight, but it is filling the dramatic void Farmer Wants A Wife left in us. A bunch of single Aussies get married and then are stranded on an island, forced to make their relationship work? Count us in.
While some couples have grown closer and shared intimate moments as they brave cold showers and wild weather together, others have fallen apart before they’ve even begun.
Emily was a hopeful bride initially, saying she was on the show for all the right reasons. But things came crashing down for her in episode 3, when she alleged her new groom Tom told her off-camera that he had a girlfriend on the outside.
“I don’t know much of the details but she’s not happy he’s here, I was blown away,” Emily said to the camera. “Tom told me he was here for the experience and we should keep going and having fun… I am beyond pissed off because I have put my life on hold to find something serious and he’s taken the absolute piss out of me.”
Later, when all the couples met for the first time, Tom was questioned about his outside girlfriend but said it wasn’t a serious thing, denying he was in a relationship.
He told the other couples that before going on the show he met someone briefly and was “seeing her for maybe a couple of months”. When asked if he saw a future with Emily, he then said, “I think coming on this show has made me recognise there are feelings [for the outside girl], and that’s been hard for me to process.”
Plot twist: Tom is now married to Australian Survivor’s Morgan Mitchell
In case you missed it, Honeymoon Island was actually filmed in October 2023, but Channel Seven kept delaying the air date until mid-2025. So a lot has happened since our couples first met… particularly for Tom!
Tom is now married to Australian Survivor’s Morgan Mitchell and they recently welcomed twin girls Honey and Maya. Tom hasn’t hidden his current relationship status, with Tom and Morgan announcing their engagement in July 2024, and then tying the knot in Februrary 2025.
So was Morgan Tom’s outside girl the whole time or was that someone else? And what does she think about all this drama? We’ll update you as soon as we find out.
Stranded On Honeymoon Island’s Emily and Tom don’t follow each other on social media, so it’s safe to say that there may not be a friendship there after all.
