My Kitchen Rules (MKR) returned to Channel Seven in 2026, with celebrity chefs Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge back as judges and a fresh batch of slightly unhinged hopeful home cooks competing for the $100,000 prize.
Six teams kicked off the competition, each bringing their own cooking styles, quirky personalities and, of course, plenty of drama.
Queensland mother-daughter duo Krysten and Lucy brought their love of farm-fresh ingredients and baking, while South Australian best mates Angus and Simon combined their contrasting cooking styles with plenty of dark humour, thanks to Angus’s job as a funeral director.
Victorian couple Tiffany and Giancarlo showcased their passion for Italian cuisine, while nurses Mary and Golden celebrated their Filipino heritage through traditional dishes. Meanwhile, South Australian best friends Alisha and Deanne, who dubbed themselves ‘classy bogans’, quickly became involved in basically every dinner-table drama. We love mess!
Rounding out the original contestants were Blue Mountains couple Jane and Shane, whose outspoken criticism of other teams made their own Instant Restaurant disaster a little too satisfying to watch.
The competition intensified with the arrival of three gatecrasher teams: competitive NSW best friends Zoe and Zac, WA mother-son duo Sheridan and Ted, and NSW hipster mates Harrison and Oliver, who brought their love of hearty food and Italian flavours.
However, not everyone can survive the pressures of MKR. Jane and Shane became the first casualties after their disastrous Instant Restaurant earned just 50/110. With teams gradually being eliminated every few weeks, the remaining contestants are battling to secure their place in Kitchen HQ and the grand finale. Bring it!
My Kitchen Rules 2026 eliminated teams: Who has left MKR?
Jane and Shane

Jane and Shane were undoubtedly one of My Kitchen Rules’ most controversial teams, with the Blue Mountains couple repeatedly ruffling feathers through their savage assessments of their rival’s dishes.
Jane, a food stylist, raised eyebrows when she declared herself a “taster” rather than an eater, criticised Alisha and Deanne’s plates and suggested the $100,000 prize money wouldn’t be life-changing for her and Shane. They then clashed with Krysten and Lucy, who accused them of being “fake” and “two-faced”.
However, the couple’s confidence came crashing down when they hosted their Instant Restaurant, Lyst Haus. Their ambitious entrée, duck chawanmushi with king crab and caviar, suffered from an improperly set custard, while their main course was an absolute disaster.
The couple severely overcooked their pigeon, leaving it dry and practically inedible. Although their unusual Tomato Sour dessert received positive feedback, it wasn’t enough to save them.
Jane and Shane received 20/50 from their fellow contestants, while judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge awarded them 15/30 each. Their combined score of 50/110 left them behind Alisha and Deanne, who finished on 68/110, making Jane and Shane the first team eliminated from MKR 2026.
My Kitchen Rules airs on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
