The My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 finalists have been confirmed: Maria and Bailey will face off against Justin and Will in an epic grand final battle. While Justin and Will are the favourites to take out the win, we shouldn’t count out the confident Adelaide pair, who tell Chattr they always believed they would make it to the end.
Many fans hoped to see the sweet couple Danielle and Marko in the grand final with Justin and Will, so there has been a bit of backlash thrown Maria and Bailey’s way.
“It’s very clear that a lot of people didn’t expect us to be there. I think we did expect to be there,” Bailey says. “I had a conversation with someone the other day, and I said that no one on this competition is more deserving than each other… no one’s better than each other.”
Maria agrees, saying she’s unsure what people will think of their MKR grand final spot. “I think everyone deserves to be there, and we absolutely deserve to be there, and we worked really hard,” she adds.
MKR is based on elimination rounds, rather than a total score throughout the competition, so Bailey points out that the contestants are only as good as their last cook. And for Maria and Bailey, their last cook was good enough to beat Lol and Lil.
“I think that whoever is, you know, got through to each round, they deserve to be there. So if you’re in the Grand Finale, you deserve to be there,” Bailey declares.

What will Maria and Bailey do with the MKR prize money?
The winners of MKR will take home a whopping $100,000. If Maria and Bailey manage to beat Justin and Will in the grand final, they have big plans for the wad of cash.
Maria plans to expand her cookie business, Blondie’s Bakehouse, and hopes to open up her first storefront. Meanwhile, Bailey has big tech plans in store.
“I want to create an app that’s a little bit like a YouTube or a video program for youth to be able to watch,” Bailey says.
“[Working with] underprivileged youth, that’s what I do for a living, so that they can watch and learn how to cook… really easy [with] things that you can just find in the cupboard.”
The MKR grand final will air on Sunday, November 16 on Channel 7 and 7plus.
