Bubbly friends Lol and Lil are hoping for redemption during the My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 second Instant Restaurant round, after almost going home during round one.
Lol, 26, and Lil, 25, are the youngest duo in the competition, and have already clashed heavily with Michael and Rielli — with the former contestant writing them off due to their age.
However, Lol and Lil hate this sentiment. “We are definitely underestimated in this competition,” Lol tells Chattr. “You don’t have to be, as I said, 83 to know how to cook. I mean, there’s so many TikToks, there’s social media these days. It shows you different cuisines from all around the world.”
The duo have one aim this Instant Restaurant round, and that’s to prove Michael wrong.
“We are definitely after redemption. We are hoping to beat Michael and Rielli next round and prove him wrong again,” Lol says. “It absolutely feels like we’ve got a second chance and we are not going to let it slip this time.”
Where are MKR’s Lol and Lil from?
The pair are from Logan, Queensland, which is located between the Gold Coast and Brisbane. When Michael attended their first Instant Restaurant, he labelled the area “the slums” and called the girls “Logan bogans.” For Lol and Lil, it was hard watching it air on TV.
“It’s a bit rough. We definitely don’t go saying that to anybody else. I don’t think it’s necessary to judge someone based on where they live,” Lol tells us.
Before MKR, Lol had never been on a plane or left Queensland, but the best friends aren’t intimidated by Michael’s loud declaration that travel makes you a better cook.
“You don’t have to travel to know how to cook,” Lol hits back.

How did Lol and Lil learn to cook?
For Lol, her grandma is her “biggest inspiration”.
“I was in the kitchen with her for as long as I can remember and I learned so much from her,” she says.
Lil’s passion for cooking came later in life. “I always loved watching cooking shows growing up, they inspired me to learn. Cooking for my friends and family brings me so much joy,” Lil says.
What do Lol and Lil want to use the My Kitchen Rules prize money for?
Lol tells Chattr the pair have big plans if they walk away $100,000 richer at the end of MKR. They are hoping to release a three-part cookbook named Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice.
“And then, eventually, down the track, we would love a little cafe together,” she adds.
We’ll be the first ones at the cafe when it opens!
My Kitchen Rules (MKR) airs on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
