MasterChef Australia 2025 is well underway, with the top eight contestants currently cooking up a storm in Doha for International Week. If you’ve been yelling at the screen and think you could do better than the MasterChef Australia: Back To Win cooks, you can apply for next year’s competition online.
Endemol Shine, the production company behind the show, recently posted a call to a popular MasterChef Australia Facebook group, encouraging fans to submit an application.
“Applications are now open for next season and we want to see all passionate home cooks apply! So, if you are feeling inspired by what you’re watching or you want the change of a lifetime, just like our Back To Win contestants, then please apply now,” the post reads. “We want to see YOU in the MasterChef kitchen!”
The link to apply is here, and potential MasterChef Australia contestants are required to submit a minimum of three photographs of themselves with their application. Producers would also like to see a one to three-minute video of your cooking skills, although this isn’t mandatory.
“Feel free to upload a one to three-minute video of yourself displaying your skills in the kitchen as well as introducing to us who you are and what food and cooking means to you,” the application form reads.
All MasterChef Australia contestants must be amateur cooks, over 18 years of age, Australian citizens or permanent residents, and can’t be related to any Network 10 or Endemol Shine Australia employees.

When will MasterChef Australia 2026 be filmed?
Due to the nature of the competition, MasterChef Australia contestants have to commit to a long filming period. Next year’s show will be filmed from October 2025 to April 2026, with a break for Christmas and the New Year, which is approximately 30 weeks long.
It’s likely MasterChef Australia 2026 will start airing in April next year. It’s nice to see the show get back to its roots and celebrate true amateur home cooks. Perhaps we’ll find the next Poh Ling Yeow or Andy Allen!
MasterChef Australia airs on Sunday at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.
