A week on from Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 sweethearts Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels confirming their split, Rhi has opened up about how she’s doing since the breakup.
On Monday, Rhi shared her state of mind since the couple had called it quits. “Finding my way back,” she captioned her carousel.
“Life’s looked a little different lately,” she wrote. “Some days have felt really heavy… some days have felt really good.” Rhi went on to suggest that some parts of her life had felt ‘out of her control’ lately. “A lot of change, a lot to process, and a lot of moments where I’ve had to learn to sit with things I can’t control,” she wrote.
In another slide, Rhi alluded that she was the one to end the relationship with Jeff. “Sometimes choosing yourself means breaking your own little heart in the process,” she wrote.
The post was flooded with warm comments from the MAFS alum. “Love you angel,” wrote 2025 bride, Carina Mirabile. “Here for you always.” Ella May Ding and Awhina Rutene shared heart emojis.
A week ago, Jeff and Rhi took to Instagram to share with their followers that their relationship was over, and based on the wording of their statements, it sounds as though Rhi was the one who called it off.
“With a heavy heart, I want to share that Jeff and I have decided to part ways. This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make,” she began.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the love we shared and all of the memories we created. Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout our relationship and followed along on our journey. Your kindness means more than you know, and I appreciate your respect and understanding as we move forward,” she finished.
While the timing of Jeff and Rhi’s statements were coorinated — the wording itself was quite different, suggesting that the breakup could be messy.
“After a lot of thought, unfortunately my relationship has ended,” Jeff began. “This has been an incredibly difficult time and I’m trying to navigate this as best as I can. I’m grateful for the memories and
genuine love we shared over the years. Thank you for supporting our relationship, being part of our journey and respecting my privacy during this time.”
There’s also notably no mention from either about remaining friends — which is normally something reality TV couples are quick to stress when announcing an amicable split. Instead, both kept their statements brief and focused on moving forward, leaving fans wondering exactly what went wrong behind the scenes.
Jeff and Rhi unfollow each other on Instagram a day before their break up announcement
Jeff is no longer following Rhi on Instagram. It’s unknown when the unfollowing occurred, but as of 9am on Monday, June 1, Jeff does not follow Rhi.

In the time since that happened, Rhi has unfollowed Jeff. Add to that, both Jeff and Rhi deleted loads of photos of themselves together from their Instagrams.
They are no longer tagged on each other’s Instagram accounts either, which could suggest they’ve blocked each other. We’ve reached out to both Rhi and Jeff about the unfollowing and deleted photos.
Breakup speculation began last month after Rhi posted a cryptic Instagram carousel post, which hinted at problems in a relationship, fans went haywire. In the post, she wrote: “Choosing relationships that feel calm and safe. Not confusing inconsistency or mixed signals for love.”
On Reddit, one fan said something had “changed” recently in the way the couple act on social media. “More alone time. Less mentioning each other,” they wrote.
“Maybe he’s been really busy but I got the same feeling. Prob wrong,” another agreed.
“Is anyone surprised though? They always gave friend vibes to me,” a third chimed in.
“There’s a pattern celebrating her alone time lately, her vibe has changed and I’m willing to stir the pot in case it’s true,” another said.

MAFS’ Jeff posts cryptic carousel without Rhi
Despite the relationship speculation, Jeff decided to post a carousel earlier this month without any photos of Rhi. Instead, Jeff posted an array of solo pics and cute photos with his mum.
That said, at the time, the post was liked by Rhi.
It was a curious choice for Jeff to choose now — of all times — to post on Instagram, and the absence of Rhi hasn’t gone unnoticed by his followers.
Jeff did reply to this comment, which read: “Are we doing a thing where your photos make us think you’ve broken up but you haven’t…or are we warm?”
Jeff wrote back “don’t stress” with some laughing emojis, which umm… is equally cryptic.
MAFS’ Rhi reveals where she and Jeff stand
When MAFS Funny podcast host Josh Fox reached out to Rhi asking if the couple had split, the MAFS bride put a stop to all of the rumours.
Apparently, Rhi initally told Josh that “All is good”, and the couple hadn’t split up.
Are MAFS’ Rhi and Jeff staying together for clout?
There were a few theories out there that MAFS Rhi and Jeff were staying together publicly for brand deals and clout.
They have definitely hitched their wagon to each other and have previously done past collaborations with brands as a couple.
When somebody pointed out Jeff posted a photo with Rhi on Instagram back in early May, another said this could just be a cover up.
“I think that’s so they keep getting the perks of brand deals and sponsorships as they would if they are together. If they broke up and made it public, they’d probably lose [the] majority of them so she’s just being passive aggressive towards him on social media,” the fan theorised.
“Rhi and Jeff are just a brand duo. Every post Rhi does is just an ad. Anything personal or a special memory has to be an ad, it must be exhausting living this kind of life as a couple (if they are still together),” another agreed.
“If they have any deals [or] adverts coming up, contractually they have to be in a relationship for it,” a third pointed out.
“Couples [pretend] sometimes when they have product contracts. They might still be together but the vibe on their accounts has changed lately and I’m suspicious,” another remarked.
