Police have received video and photographic material as part of their ongoing assault investigation into Married At First Sight (MAFS) star Jeff Gobbels and his former on-and-off-screen partner Rhi Disljenkovic, a source has told Chattr.
It’s the latest twist in a saga that’s already rocked the MAFS class of Season 12 — and, according to multiple insiders, one that’s far messier than the tidy uncoupling both stars sold their fans on social media.
What we know about the police visit
Chattr broke the story: Victoria Police officers turned up at the couple’s Melbourne apartment on June 1. According to police, a woman — who we’ve identified as Rhi — “sustained minor injuries, and a 41-year-old man was interviewed and released pending summons.”
That 41-year-old is Jeff, sources said.
Since then, both stars have gone quiet. Neither responded to Chattr’s requests for comment. But multiple people in their orbit — former MAFS co-stars, friends and confidants — have been talking. And of the people Chattr spoke to, almost none were shocked.
“She wanted to settle down. He didn’t,” one insider claimed. “Rhi wanted to get married and have children, she’s 36.”
The MAFS co-stars who have picked a side
The fallout is spreading. Dave Hand — the 38-year-old Melbourne tradie from the same season, and once one of Jeff’s tightest mates on the show — has quietly unfollowed him on Instagram. Rhi’s friends, including Carina Mirabile, Beth Kelly, Jamie Marinos and Ashleigh Ackerman, have also unfollowed Jeff. In response to a social video about Chattr’s article, Ashleigh commented with hearts to publicly show support.
“Rhi obviously had a tight friendship with all the girls, so she’s been getting support from them,” a source close to the cast told Chattr. “We’ve been reaching out to her as much as possible and speaking to her and her sister, and you know, it’s a sh**ty thing that she’s going through, but she’s getting a lot of support from everyone.”
The insider added that most of the cast never had an issue with Jeff until hearing about what allegedly happened between him and Rhi. “Rhi doesn’t need to be getting hate at this time,” the source said.
A former MAFS cast member who asked to remain anonymous didn’t mince their words about the end of the pair. “Jeff had a failed college footy career and a failed acting career after Neighbours! I think he’s just a failure,” they declared.
Dave and Carina’s public show of support for Rhi after split
Dave and Carina have also flown to Melbourne to be by Rhi’s side. Dave was previously in China, while Carina resides in Western Australia.

The trio have been sharing videos and photos of each other on social media. While they haven’t commented publicly about the situation, the message is clear.
More to come.
