Another season of Married At First Sight (2026) is delivering exactly what viewers have come to expect: drama. Ever since the participants first met at the altar, there’s been emotional commitment ceremonies, fiery dinner parties, and a shock exit.

As the weeks go by, the experts set challenges for the participants, intensifying the pressure for some, while helping others build a strong foundation.

For some couples, cracks have already begun to show, and it’s becoming clear that they won’t last the entire experiment. Whether that’s a mutual decision at the commitment ceremony, a dramatic storm-out after an explosive dinner party, or a shock exit that blindsides the group, each departure shifts the dynamics of the experiment.

From emotional farewells to explosive goodbyes, here’s a complete rundown of every MAFS contestant who has left the experiment so far, and what led to their decision to say goodbye.

Juliette and Joel

Another couple has bitten the dust — Juliette and Joel.

Despite appearing to turn a corner after the recent Commiment Ceremony, it turns out there was more going on behind the scenes, particularly on Juliette’s side.

After the experts confronted Juliette about how she had been treating Joel, the pair seemed to make real progress during the Couples Retreat. But when they returned to the couch, things quickly unravelled — again.

Tensions exploded after Juliette threatened to show screenshots that Gia had sent her about the ongoing drama with Bec, Alissa and David, sending the conversation spiralling.

Juliette claimed she felt Joel hadn’t had her back during the situation, but expert Alessandra Rampolla pushed back, telling her that Bec’s behaviour was “no excuse” for how she had treated Joel, adding that Juliette’s behaviour was “way worse”.

That was the final straw.

Juliette abruptly stood up and walked out of the experiment, taking one last swipe at Gia on her way out.

Joel followed her outside, but the confrontation only escalated, with Juliette hurling insults.

“You’re a dog and a pig,” she told him.

Joel eventually returned to the couch alone, where the experts praised his patience and composure throughout the ordeal.

If you think it stops there, it doesn’t. Joel told Chattr that her vitriol towards him didn’t stop when she walked out of the Commitment Ceremony. “The day after we left the show, she sent me this vile, abusive message blaming me for everything,” Joel told Chattr.

Stephanie and Tyson

Stephanie and Tyson initially seemed like a perfect match, sharing conservative values. But their relationship quickly unravelled, much like the brief marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

From the start, the pair clashed. Tyson insisted on being the “leader” in the relationship and wanted a submissive wife. Stephanie disagreed and often challenged him, even asking if her “ambition” made her too masculine for him.

Despite the tension, Tyson tried to take advice from John Aiken but avoided engaging with both Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla, something Stephanie brought up at the next commitment ceremony.

At the commitment ceremony, Stephanie raised concerns about Tyson’s views, including his comments on same-sex relationships and the belief that wives should be submissive. She also noted he only took advice from John, not Mel or Alessandra.

Stephanie told the experts that anytime Tyson was challenged, he ended the conversation, just as he did in that moment.

“I do not see a future here. After tonight, I’m going back to the Gold Coast,” Tyson said before walking out the door.

Stephanie threw down her wedding ring as Mel Schilling comforted her, marking the end of this marriage.

Mel and Luke

Mel was looking for her “blue man” to match her “pink self,” which sounds more like a romcom, given that Luke forgot the wedding rings and was chewing gum at the altar from their first meeting…

Things between the two weren’t off to a great start, in fact, it was quite icy and really sad to see as Luke was trying really hard, giving his all into the expiriment, admiting that he “had never put in so much effort before to someone,” and Mel just couldn’t seem to get over the gum incidident and that Luke arrived later than her at the wedding.

However, after a few home truths from the experts, they both started to put things behind them and a friendship started to blossom, but sadly, it just couldn’t bloom into anything more, with Mel admitting that her feelings for Luke hadn’t grown.

In the end, their relationship just wasn’t going anywhere, and they both wrote leave. Mel is yet to find her “something blue,” and Luke is in talks to become the next star of Farmer Wants A Wife.

Julia and Grayson

Despite a magical connection from the very beginning at their wedding, both Julia and Grayson struggled to connect on a deeper level, even though Grayson tried exceptionally hard to make it work.

Julia couldn’t even wait for the commitment ceremony, with her writing Grayson a break-up letter earlier in the week, which left Grayson completely blindsided.

It was during the dinner party that Grayson confronted her and asked whether she would’ve preferred to have been matched with a woman, which she denied.

In the end, the commitment ceremony they shared featured mutual reasons why they both wrote “stay,” and they said their goodbyes.

Brook

Brook Crompton was the first contestant to leave this season of MAFS after an explosive commitment ceremony, marking the first major shake-up in the experiment so far.

Chris and Brook appeared relatively happy with their pairing until Brook watched Chris’ audition tape and discovered he had listed his “turn-offs” as “fake tan, needy and fat people.”

“I had no idea, and to be quite frank, if I had known, that man would have been ripped a new asshole. I would have done a full runner. I think my friends also probably would have annihilated him,” she told Chattr.

During intimacy week, Brook decided to leave the experiment after not being able to get past the “ick” she developed for her groom Chris. Later, she returned for the Dinner Party.

But the second Commitment Ceremony was last night on the show. After Mel called her actions at the Dinner Party vicious, Brook excused herself to go to the toilet and never returned.

Steve and Rebecca

Steve and Brook had been clashing all week, and tensions finally reached breaking point at the second Commitment Ceremony, where they both chose to leave the experiment.

After revealing their decisions, Steve apologised to Alessandra for being Sassy to her when the boy’s met for an Intimacy workshop. Upon hearing Steve’s apology to Alessandra, Rebecca demanded one of her own, but, sadly, never got it.
