Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 is just around the corner, but Chattr has already been given a few cheeky spoilers. One involves the clout-chaser groom Scott McCristal, who has appeared on multiple reality shows prior to MAFS.
The businessman, 33, is said to come across as a regular “nice guy” for most of the season, but it’s all a facade. While his bride, Gia Fleur, was there to find love, he apparently strings her along so he can get more airtime. Sounds like he’s going to follow the Dave Hand playbook.
“He only talks to one person from the show now, and at the last Dinner Party, he said he was too good for everyone and that they’re beneath him,” our source spills. “He said to his wife on camera that she wasn’t his calibre.”
According to the insider, Scott is on MAFS for “the wrong reasons” and hopes to jumpstart his business career, planning to launch a new venture in two months.
Below, here’s everything else we know about the MAFS groom.
Was Scott McCristal protected by production?
In another bombshell, our source claims Scott was protected by production because he acted as a production pet.
“He does a lot wrong, but he gets away with everything and gets a great edit,” the insider alleges. “He was a production kiss ass, buying them coffee and doing so much. He was going above and beyond, and they’ve really taken to him and Luke Fourniotis.”

Not only would he follow the rules to a tee, but Scott is also said to have dobbed in other participants when they did something wrong. Not cool, Scott!
Who is Scott McCristal paired with on MAFS?
Scott has been matched with Gia Fleur, a disability support worker from Victoria. She says she’s often been judged on her breast implants, tattoos and blonde hair, but underneath, she’s a big softie and is here for love.
The 35-year-old bride has one child, so she wants to find something serious. We’re getting Awhina Rutene vibes from her.

What else do we know about MAFS groom Scott McCristal?
MAFS groom Scott has already appeared on a few reality TV shows, including Blind Date, Million Dollar Island and Holey Moley. According to an insider, he’s hoping to get on another reality TV show next year.
He’s described as an adrenaline junkie who loves luxury cars and wants to live a lush lifestyle. Scott runs multiple businesses and is a self-confessed workaholic, so he hasn’t had much time to look for love.
Well, it doesn’t sound like he finds love on MAFS 2026, that’s for sure!
MAFS 2026 premieres on Monday, February 2 at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
