Inside MAFS' Scott McCristal's $1.9 million waterfront house

The two-story house is packed with all the trimmings.

Scott McCristal’s gorgeous waterfront mansion turned heads when it debuted on Married at First Sight (MAFS) last night, but while viewers were impressed, his on-screen wife, Gia Fleur, wasn’t.

Gia claimed that Scott’s place — which looked pretty pristine to us — was too “messy” and said she’d need somewhere a lot bigger when she moved up to the Gold Coast to be with him, closing out her insults by telling Scott that there’s no way she couldn’t live at the multi-million dollar abode.

Some fans have taken to social media to call out Gia’s reaction to Scott’s place, with one even claiming they’d “marry Scott to get to live in that house,” adding: “It’s amazing and he clearly looks after it.”

“To see her instantly trash Scott’s place on the ocean was insane behaviour,” another wrote on Reddit.

Because of the stark contrast between the general public and Gia’s opinions, we decided to take a closer look at Scott’s place in all its waterfront glory.

Scott’s house is located in Hollywell, Queensland, about 12kms from Surfers Paradise, and the suburb is filled with canals and — as we saw on MAFS — oceanfront homes and boats.

While he doesn’t specify whether he rents or owns the house, an almost identical villa from the same complex was sold in Dec 2025, for $1.6 million, with Domain.com estimating the property to be worth around $1.9 million now, and calculated that rent would be approximately $1,140 a week.

As far as house sizes go, Gia was right; if Scott’s house is the same size as the one we found, it’s on the smaller side for a three-bedroom house, with just 169m2 internal space. However, the master bedroom is huge at over 34m2, and there’s also a study on top of the other two bedrooms. As viewers saw on MAFS, the main bedroom has a spa in the ensuite and a view of the water.

Meanwhile, the amenities are just as impressive as the view. It’s set in a safe gated community, and residents have access to a resort-style swimming pool, tennis courts, and a gorgeous BBQ entertaining area.
