Producers had to intervene during a Reunion Dinner Party meltdown

Joel teased that to Chattr in an interview that the MAFS Reunion is “probably the most psychotic and deranged dinner party of all.”

The groom, who exited the experiment during the episode that aired on March 15, will be returning for the dramatic Reunion and revealed that the drama got so intense that the producers had to step in at one point.

“The producers stormed on set and shouted at us, ‘Stop screaming over each other’. Like, everyone was just screaming at each other. It was just a non-stop screaming match. But it’s not really good for TV when you can’t hear people speak.”

The filming of the Reunion Commitment Ceremony lasted until sunrise

The MAFS Reunion is filmed in two parts: the Dinner Party and the Commitment Ceremony, and Alissa said that the latter was the longest filming session they had all season. She said that it took about “16 hours” to film from start to finish, adding that the sun was coming up when they wrapped.

“We had a couple of breaks here and there, like water and toilet breaks and whatnot. But, it was exhausting, because obviously they do all your highlights, your low lights, and everybody gets a spot on the couch. That was definitely the longest [session we filmed],” she explained.

Alissa added that the longest filming session of the regular Commitment Ceremonies finished at “four o’clock in the morning”, noting that it wasn’t “as long as a reunion”.

Cheating scandal between Danny and Stephanie exposed

Viewers can apparently expect a cheating scandal at the Reunion involving Danny Hewitt and intruder Stephanie Marshall. However, an insider has told Chattr that the storyline was exaggerated and there will be “no new couples at the Reunion.”

“It was Danny [Hewitt] and Stephanie [Marshall],” the source said. “But, there was nothing to it really; Danny just sent Stephanie a couple of friendly texts after Final Vows. I would not call it flirty by any means. It’s been completely blown out of proportion for the sake of making drama for the show.”

The source added that the news of Danny and Stephanie’s texts started circulating when “two women from the cast used it as a chance to create a huge s**t storm.”

When we asked Danny what to expect from the Reunion in a previous interview, he seemed to touch on the cheating scandal and echoed the source’s sentiment that things were blown out of proportion for drama.

“I think you’ll see a lot of fluffed-up drama. To be honest, you might see me in the heat of it. It’s just fluffed up bulls**t drama. That’s all it is. What’s done in the dark will always come to light.”

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
