One of the main storylines on Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 has centred around Gia Fleur and Danny Hewitt’s ongoing feud, with Danny claiming the bride is “obsessed” with him. However, in an interview with Chattr, Gia hit back, saying it’s actually the other way around, claiming Danny even tried to stage fake relationship photos with her for clout.

The fallout between the two reality stars started after Danny allegedly told Gia she was his type on a night out, and Gia let it slip to Danny’s onscreen wife, Bec, at one of the Dinner Parties. Since then, it’s come up multiple times when the cast have been together as a group, and Danny called Gia “obsessed” with him in an interview on Stan’s After the Dinner Party.

“Obsessed with him? Disgusting,” she told Chattr. “For him to say I’m obsessed with him, when I’ve had media reach out to me and say to me that he is begging to get photographed with me for a story. Oh, can we get 10k, 15k and get you to walk out that club and act like we’re in a relationship? He’s the one saying this, and I’m saying absolutely f**king not.”

Gia made it very clear that she and Danny aren’t on good terms now, and won’t be posing for any fake pap pics with him in the near future.

“I’ve never contacted him [after the show]. I don’t have his number. I’ve never spoken to him since the reunion. And I’m not the one who’s trying to push for media outings together.”

What happened the night MAFS’ Gia claims Danny hit on her?

In an interview with Chattr, Gia recounted what happened on the fateful night out that sparked all the drama between her, Bec and Danny.

She explained that she was at Bondi bar Icebergs one night during filming with some of the cast.

“Everyone was a bit loose, a bit drunk. Everyone had split off and gone into their own areas,” she began.

“Essentially, Brook, Danny and I were left at the table at one particular moment. And I said, ‘Are you happy with your match?’ because this was very early on, like two weeks in or something. I said, ‘Are you happy?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, look, you know, I’m pretty happy.’ And I said, ‘Okay, like, is she your type? Like, you know, is that someone you would go for?’ And he said, ‘Well, no, in the real world, I’d probably go for someone who looks more like you.’”

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
