MAFS 2026 dinner party alcohol food drink

Every year on Married At First Sight (MAFS), we wait with bated breath for the weekly Dinner Party. There doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to these shindigs, other than starting drama and inciting cheating scandals.

However, fans have often wondered what really takes place at a MAFS Dinner Party. What do the cast get to eat, and are they allowed as much alcohol as they want?

MAFS 2026 bride Bec Zacharia has spilled the beans to Chattr, saying the food isn’t incredible, but it’s not terrible either.

“What do you eat? It changes every week. There’s always two proteins, some salads and vegetables. Is it the best? No. Is it the worst? No,” Bec reveals.

“Being a foodie myself, I sit there and I think, oh imagine if you had [another] sauce with this, or [something else].”

How much alcohol can the MAFS cast drink at the Dinner Party?

Bec also tells Chattr that there is a limit on the alcohol you can drink during a MAFS Dinner Party.

“If you are drinking too much or slurring or anything, you will be cut off completely,” she spills. “They monitor how much you’re drinking.”

For Bec and her husband, Danny Hewitt, the couple also drank wine prior to attending their first Dinner Parties, but found themselves cut off.

“You cannot drink beforehand. I know that Danny and I were having vinos, you know, whilst we were getting ready and whatnot for the first three Dinner Parties,” she says.

“After that, we certainly stopped, because we would get cut off. But you know, in that moment, you’re so excited… but yeah, you definitely get cut off if you are drinking too much.”

MAFS 2025 bride Carina Mirabile previously told Chattr that production doesn’t provide much alcohol at the actual Dinner Parties either.

“There’s a certain amount of alcohol there, and then the last ones get nothing,” she said. “[I think you’re given] one carafe between three couples with red and white wine, and that’s it.”

Former MAFS crew member reveals alcohol secrets

A former MAFS crew member also told Chattr producers aren’t wanting to “encourage” contestants to drink; however, they are aware it’s “part of the evening”.

“They’re fueled with drink. Although monitored, producers can’t control what people eat. And if the [brides] want to look slim for the night and decide they don’t want to eat and then drink three glasses of wine, there’s only so much control you can have on people,” the source said.

“There is a duty of care where you can’t show people too drunk on Aussie TV. Which is why you’ll never see anyone rolling around absolutely plastered on any show.”

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Monday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
