Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 bride Bec Zacharia has been open about her 35kg weight loss on the show, revealing she has insecurities about loose skin after such a big transformation. Of course, fans have been speculating that she used the medication Ozempic to drop such a large amount of weight.

Bec slams any Ozempic rumours and tells Chattr she used healthier methods as part of her transformation.

“I started on keto. I lost probably about 10kg doing keto, not fatty keto, not bacon and pork belly and stuff like that. I definitely, you know, was really regimented. It was really, really difficult,” Bec says.

“I started prioritising my food intake. I went to a therapist, I started working on my mind a lot, and then I went and got into Pilates. I got into weight training and walking 10,000 steps a day. I’m sure there’s people around the area that I live that will be able to back me up saying, ‘I see her walking her dog every single morning’.”

The MAFS bride also says she was prompted to lose weight due to health reasons, after an eye-opening conversation with her doctor had her worried about the future. Diabetes runs in Bec’s family, and she was the only person left on her mother’s side who hadn’t developed the disease.

“I was at my doctor, and he said that your BMI is huge, and you’re at a real risk of getting diabetes, and you need to change your lifestyle,” she reveals. “I am the only person in my family without diabetes, the only person on my mother’s side.”

MAFS’ Bec hits back at rumours she ‘faked’ being ‘chubby’ with Photoshop

In a wild twist, Bec has also been faced with rumours she was “faking” her weight-loss story for TV. After an anonymous Reddit poster claimed Bec “photoshopped” her photos to make her look bigger, the bride responded.

“I’m more than willing to [show more] photos that you actually haven’t seen [if you need proof],” Bec told Chattr. “I very much was very, very large, and I went from 89 kilos to 54 now.”

The MAFS participant hasn’t seen the rumours floating around online, but said she thought it was “quite funny”.

“I have been really vulnerable, and I don’t think anyone would go on national TV watched by millions, 10s of millions of people around the world and say that I was overweight, and I’ve never felt beautiful [or] ever loved myself. I think that [would be] a weird thing to do, yeah,” she added.

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Monday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
