Bec Zacharia from this year’s season of Married At First Sight (MAFS) looks to have swapped one heavily tattooed British man for another.
The MAFS alumnus papped having lunch with Marcus Rich, a 30-year-old English ex-soldier who now works as a “luxury escort” in Sydney. Marcus also starred on Flex, a micro-reality show launched by 9Now earlier this year.
The series, which screens in quick bursts designed to be watched on your phone, follows a group of Bondi residents as they navigate their quarter-life crises in one of Sydney’s most affluent suburbs and all the pressure and Athleisure wear that entails.
Marcus reposted Bec’s photo that captured what the pair had for lunch during their date, with Bec also re-posting papparazzi photos of the two snapped by The Daily Mail. So, they aren’t exactly keeping their cards close to their chest!

Of course, fans are speculating that the whole thing’s a publicity stunt, which does seem likely. “I heard that the rumour was not true,” reckons one fan on Reddit. “Bec and Marcus are not dating,” they continued, adding that the whole thing stinks of a “publicity stunt.”
Another Redditor agreed. “More likely for PR and promo,” they said. “Almost certainly.”
And while Chattr reached out to Bec to comment on what was going on with her and this inked gentleman, the MAFS alumnus didn’t wish to comment. Hmm, we are intrigued.
Bec and Marcus hit back at vicious comments online
Bec and Marcus’ rumoured relationship has copped plenty of heat online, with some labelling it as “embarrassing” and questioning whether Bec had to pay Marcus for his time.
In one heated reply, Marcus seemed frustrated. “You know nothing about me? You verbally attack me, I defend myself, and I’m the bad guy? Having the mentality to spread toxicity online doesn’t make you cooked? I went for breakfast and that gives you the right to be toxic? Seems I’m too calling a spade a spade huh,” he wrote.
Bec confirmed she didn’t pay Marcus, and replied to another troll. “What’s embarrassing about being friends with a beautiful human? I’m so sorry. What’s embarrassing is you sitting behind a keyboard being a loser. Have a great weekend darling,” Bec wrote.
MAFS’ Danny’s fall from grace
Whether rumours of Bec’s relationship with Marcus are true, it’s safe to say she’s moved on from her MAFS husband Danny Hewitt, who finished up his time on MAFS on a pretty bad note.
The 34-year-old was shown boasting about being able to find a “better bird in Coles” in footage released by Stan’s MAFS Australia: After The Dinner Party, and also shouting the words, “bring me better women!” He was also shown calling former intruder bride, Stephanie Marshall, a “little skank.”
The clips sparked major backlash against Danny, with his Instagram follower count dropping rapidly and comments sections flooded by angry fans. Three days after the clipped aired, Danny took to Instagram to apologise to the women his comments were aimed at.
“Most of you hate me, I don’t blame ya. I hate myself. So join the club. But I just wanted to jump on here and just apologise, obviously, for some of the comments I made — or all of the comments I made — on the Stan’s After the Dinner Party show. Horrendous. I’m so ashamed of myself,” he began.
“Obviously, I want to apologise to Steph for the way I spoke about her and Bec, of course, I’m so sorry to both of you girls.”
Danny added that he has a dry sense of humour, which can sometimes “come across wrong”.
“But I’m not here to make excuses or blame it on a sense of humour or anything like that. I’m here to own up to my mistakes and just apologise to anyone who watched it, any viewers who watched it and found it offensive, I’m so sorry.”
