MAFS 2026 bec fired job confirmed

Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 bride Bec Zacharia has confirmed she was fired after her employer saw the way she behaved on the show. She explained what went down during a TikTok Live, and it’s pretty juicy.

“It was just a situation where they felt like being in a front-facing situation, I obviously had a really, really bad Dinner Party three, the day after [the episode aired] they said maybe you should just come back once MAFS is done, and I said no,” Bec said.

“Then, a week to the day, they said we’ll pay you out. Gotta go. And here I am.”

Speaking to former MAFS bride Awhina Rutene earlier in the TikTok Live, she gave more details about what she did for a job and why her appearance on MAFS was so controversial.

“[I was a] professional schmoozer. Essentially, I look after people in key accounts, in a business that buys from us,” she said. “Take them out for dinners and lunches, all that sort of stuff. So pretty difficult being a front-facing figure when you’re on MAFS, and every two seconds you’re flying off the handle.”

An insider close to the situation told Chattr Bec was “devastated” and didn’t see this coming. “They worked with her and knew who she was, yet after watching Bec on TV at one of her lowest moments, they fired her,” the source said. “She understands her actions have consequences, but she was still devastated.”

MAFS’ Bec opens up about late ADHD diagnosis

Elsewhere in the TikTok Live with Awhina, Bec told viewers she had recently been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

ADHD is a developmental disorder that affects executive functioning. This can mean people with ADHD struggle to self-regulate with emotions, thoughts and actions. Other common traits include being impulsive, easily distracted or having trouble concentrating.

Approximately one in 20 Australians has ADHD, but women are underdiagnosed.

The bride said it has been a “huge eye-opener” to understand the way her brain works, including her behaviour on MAFS. She chatted about her tendency to act first and then try to clean up the mess later, like her outbursts at the MAFS Dinner Party three.

“Doing things and then thinking about it afterwards, like everyone’s like, ‘Oh she’s always apologising’,” Bec added.

“It’s pretty wild, but it’s really liberating to know. Because it just changes your whole life and your perspective of everything.”

Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Tuesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
