MAFS' Gia claims there was more to Bec’s unhinged Dinner Party behaviour than viewers saw

"She's doing her crocodile tears."

After taking aim at almost every couple at the third Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 Dinner Party, Bec Zacharia stole the spotlight, and Gia Fleur believes her chaotic behaviour was a calculated move.

In the lead-up to the episode, Bec appeared to build anticipation around her behaviour, telling MAFSFunny she would likely need to issue a public apology once it aired. She later made a tearful appearance on radio the morning after the episode aired, and Gia believes it was all part of a larger plan.

“It’s just strange to me, like she’s doing her crocodile tears, and she’s doing a little PR moves to try and look better and everything,” Gia told Chattr.

While Gia believes that Bec is doing her best to present herself in a sympathetic light to viewers post-Dinner Party, she added that the way Bec acted at the Dinner Party is how she treated Gia behind the scenes.

“That was not out of character for Bec. This is just now Bec finally showing who she is. This is how she was to other people and me behind the cameras all the time. This is her sort of behaviour,” Gia said.

“I think it shows enough that this is who Bec is, and it’s no one else to blame but herself, which I’m glad that Australia’s saying, because it’s this is what we’ve seen behind the scenes,” she added.

MAFS’ Gia reveals why she really tried to make amends with Bec

MAFS 2026 viewers have watched Gia and Bec’s relationship repeatedly shift between friendship and rivalry, with the third Dinner Party seemingly cementing them as enemies.

At the second Dinner Party, Gia attempted to make amends with Bec, and she admitted to Chattr that one of the reasons behind this move was because she thought her friend Brook had left.

“My friends had left. I partly wanted some more friends, and I wanted to have an okay experience.”

However, Gia added that she also decided to extend an olive branch to Bec because she thought it would help keep the peace.

“I wanted her to stop coming for me, to be honest. And I thought, if I become friends with her, she’ll probably chill out with me a bit, and I’ll be able to have a better experience and focus on me and Scott.”

Gia said that Scott made it very clear that her befriending Bec was a good idea.

“Scott didn’t want me being friends with her at all. I kept trying, hoping for something different, because I’m a very forgiving person. And, she just kept proving over and over that I can’t really trust her,” she said.

Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2026 airs Sunday – Wednesday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
