Alissa David couch MAFS

In a spicy new interview with Chattr, David Momoh reveals that his Married At First Sight (MAFS) wife Alissa Fay told him she loved him multiple times – albeit off-camera.

“Half of our journey was not included on TV,” the Brisbane groom says, who tells Chattr that Alissa had strong feelings for him from the off.

“She’s already said she loved me off camera, more than once,” David dishes. “Maybe two of those were her drunk,” he adds. “And so she spilled out – she’s been drunk – and just spilled out all her feelings about me and everything. It’s all off-camera.”

The groom says that Alissa revealed her feelings to him early on in the experiment. In the first couple of weeks in the apartment, he recalls the couple being given a task where the two had to write letters that revealed each other’s deep, dark secrets.

“She wrote me this huge paragraph of her feelings for me, and at this point, and they haven’t showed this on TV, from the wedding day, I kept saying I was skeptical…. in my boxes. I’m skeptical, I’m skeptical.”

“I read that part huge letter from her. I was like, wow, she’s really into me,” David continues. “And then obviously, from there I started, you know, forming and building these feelings.”

David tells Chattr that it was after the task that Alissa revealed she loved him.

The groom tells Chattr that it was these off-camera exchanges that made him believe the relationship could work. “So stuff people haven’t seen off camera was what gave me the hope, what made me believe in this relationship,” he reveals. “Because no one was there when she’s drunk and her walls came down, and she spills so much info to me that I never say to anyone how she feels about me.”

When asked if he’d ever returned the sentiment, David said he didn’t at first, but said he did casually utter the words at a later stage. “I think there was one bit one time, I think it was after [Alissa’s] hectic bullying, because I knew how she felt about me. So I sort of said it casually when I was comforting her in bed,” he said, adding that Alissa then said the same thing back to him.

David says he was “confused” by Alissa’s later behaviour

Given how strongly Alissa seemed to feel for David at the beginning of the experiment, David said he was confused when Alissa seemingly started to belittle him, as we’ve seen, for example, when Alissa declared how amazing she was and shamed David for lacking “assets.”

He added that when Alissa started to “bully” him, as we’ve been seeing in recent episodes, he didn’t understand what was going on. “I was in an emotional spiral because I was so confused,” the groom admits.

So, there may be a missing puzzle piece here that explains why Alissa seemed to go off David in the way that she did. With this season MAFS coming to an end so soon, watch this space! We’ll be aiming to tie up any loose ends.
