Sharn and Ross on Love Island

Love Island Australia 2025 runners-up Ross and Sharn have officially split, just months after filming wrapped.

Love Island Australia was pre-recorded in July and August, and aired in Australia in November. Ross and Sharn left the show as a couple and confirmed that they were still dating while the season was airing. Sharn even packed up and moved from Adelaide to the Gold Coast, which put her a lot closer to Ross, who was based in Byron Bay.

However, on February 12, Sharn revealed in a TikTok Q&A that she and Ross have broken up, but said that they’re still on amicable terms.

“We’re not together anymore. Long answer, still, a little bit of a touchy subject for us, but we are no longer together. Ross is moving to Sydney, and we are not going to do long distance,” she began.

“I’m not going to go into it too much, but basically, Ross and I are realists, and we just know that long distance is not for us, and it’s just not going to work long term.

“I do just want to say as well, we are still friends. We are on amazing terms. We talk heaps. We still send memes to each other. He’s taking me to wet and wild for my Christmas present, and I’m holding him to that. You know, we really want to remain in each other’s lives and stay friends.”

Sharn and Ross’s dating timeline

Back in December, in a post-win interview, Kye and Yana confirmed that the couple were still going strong.

“Sharn and Ross are together,” Yana told Chattr, with Kye explaining that they watched the finale with their friends in Byron, which isn’t why they didn’t attend the watch party Kye and Yana had with Gabby, Connor and Isabel.

“We’re on good terms with them,” Yana added. “They’re probably the only other couple that we’re still in good terms with, other than Izzy and Connor and Gabs. They’re probably our group.”

Ross and Sharn also confirmed that they were still together on the show’s official podcast Love Island Australia Officially Unpacked in late December, and the demal therapist revealed she was moving to Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, which is a 50-minute drive from Ross.

In early January, Sharn took to her own Instagram account in an AMA (Ask Me Anything) and revealed that now that she’s moved closer to Ross, they were wrapping up their long-distance relationship and would be spending more time together IRL.

“We have been doing long distance and have managed to see each other once a month on average,” she wrote.

“Now that I’m living on the [Gold Coast], seeing each other will be much easier, and we’re excited to end the long-distance phase.”

Were Ross and Sharn in love?

During their podcast appearance in late December, the couple both took a spin on the show’s iconic Truth Bike — where Islanders ring a bell for yes and honk a horn for no — and a fan asked Ross whether he’s told Sharn that he loves her.

“I haven’t because, again, I don’t want to jump any guns and, like, end up where I have in the past. I really like where we’re at, and I really like her. Ask me, you know, down the track I’ll probably be ringing the bell,” Ross replied.

Ross explained that he’d been taking his relationship with Sharn slow because of commitment issues that he’s struggled with in his adult life.

“I still deal with commitment issues. I’ve been a bit of a love bomber as well. So Sharn and my journey hasn’t been a love bombing scenario. I do think that from the start it’s been very different.

“We’ve definitely been a slow burn. We had ups and downs in there. We’ve been doing distance, and we’re going really strong right now.”

All the clues that Ross and Sharn were still together while Love Island was airing.

While the season of Love Island Australia was still airing, the contestants were strongly encouraged to keep their post-show relationships secret until the finale aired. However, there were a few leaks that hinted that Sharn and Ross were still together in real life.

Photo leaks of Sharn and Ross kissing right before the finale

Just days before the finale, a photo of Sharn and Ross making out leaked online — and it certainly wasn’t taken in the villa.

The pic, which surfaced on Reddit, suggests that Sharn and Ross were still together after leaving Spain.

Sharn’s LinkedIn profile suggests they’re still together

Sharn lived in Adelaide while Love Island Australia was being filmed, and Ross lived in Byron Bay.

However, a recent update to the dermal therapist’s LinkedIn page shows she was located on the Gold Coast, which is just over an hour’s drive from the beach town where Ross lives. We took this as a sign she moved to be closer to Ross.

Love Island pro Olan Tekkers confirmed the couple were still together

Olan Tekkers — who somehow unofficially took on the role of spilling Love Island tea on TikTok — revealed that he attended the TikTok Awards after party, and Sharn and Ross made it clear that they were very much together.

“Ross and Sharn are definitely still together, very much publicly declaring their love for each other. So, I don’t know if they make it to the finals or not, but they’re still together,” he said.

Sharn and Ross were pictured together after the TikTok awards

A number of Islanders attended the TikTok Awards hosted in Sydney on November 26. Both Ross and Sharn were in attendance, but a snap shared afterwards seemed to confirm their relationship status.

A user posted a photo on Reddit of dumped Islanders Isabel and Connor — who have confirmed that they’re still together — walking away with Sharn and Ross after the ceremony, hinting that both couples were still happily going strong.

Sharn and Ross spotted on a date together

A Reddit user posted two photos of what looked to be the Love Island couple out and about. In the first pic, Sharn can easily be made out, but upon closer inspection, she appears to be with Ross, who’s partly hidden by some well-placed glare on the plastic. And, a follow-up photo shows Sharn in the same outfit walking with someone who looks suspiciously like Ross — sans mullet. See for yourself below.

A cabin crew member reveals Ross was flying to Adelaide — where Sharn lives

A Jetstar cabin crew member may have let the fate of Sharn and Ross’s relationship leak thanks to a selfie. TikTok user @GeorgiaClarkee posted a photo with Ross to her TikTok. When another user asked her if he was flying to Adelaide, she replied in a now-deleted comment that he was.

Sharn was the only Islander in the villa from Adelaide, and users have speculated that Ross was flying to see her, suggesting that they were still together in real life.

“Sharn is the only islander who lives in Adelaide. And let’s be honest, I’ve been to Adelaide, there is not much reason to go there unless you are visiting someone,” one person wrote after the clip was posted to Reddit.
